Yeah, but I was lookin at that 1MB L2. THAT's what was convincing me to make the purchase - I've already got my current CPU overclockin enough that I don't care so much about the MHZ.

From my experience the extra cache means little though.

the 3700s are nice i had mine up to 2.7on stock volts and cooling. I'm actually piecing it back together, picked up a cheap x300, already had the chip, mobo (just needs a new retention bracket) the ram and dvd-rom and hard drive, gonna pick up a case and hopefully a retention bracket this weekend and hope to have it up and running folding on monday-tuesday.

What do you guys like for very quiet VGA coolers. I had a Zalman VF700cu which was nice. Any other good ones?

Buu's 1.8 Ghz Venice runs at 2.4 Ghz at stock voltage.

I want a dual core. Not really sure why but I do

Yeah, mine runs around 2.5 ~ 2.6. That's why I'm not really concerned with the speed, just wanted a little extra on the hardware side.
Oh well, I don't really need it and it will come up again.

The Dual Cores are nice since they allow your background utilities to run on one core leaving games to run on the other. They are pretty sweet.

Some games are set up to allow dual core. Quake 4 is, maybe Doom 3 as well, but I can't say for sure. Hopefully Quake Wars will take advantage of that as well since it's from the same engine.
Valve is supposed to be getting multiple core support going one of these days as well.

Am I correct in remembering that OEM processors do not have an AMD warrenty?

Do you need XP Pro for it to work that way. I thought XP Home didn't fully support multiple processors? I can't remember.
