Judging by the specs, the LG monitor has substantially higher contrast than the ViewSonic monitor but lacks slightly in viewing angle, but is also HDCP compliant and $50 less. I have had no first-hand experience with either of these monitors and ViewSonic is a good name in monitors. If someone has any knowledge of both these monitors can you let me know which of the 2 is the best? Also are there any Reviews or websites that compare these monitors?

One thing i know about the ViewSonic panel is the light source is estimated at 40,000 Hrs but nowhere can u find that information on the LG panel. Does anyone know this?

I've visited the VIDEO board at AnandTech and they seem to be big fans of the Viewsonic VX2025WM. It's considered the best value with regards to wide screen LCD's for gaming and movies. The best LCD overall was the more expensive NEC (if I remember correctly), but the Viewsonic comes close at a much more reasonable price. I'd visit their boards for more info.
