Everytime I remove the drive from my pc it shows back up after I reboot. Now this woulndt be such a big deal but Im having probs with my BENQ 1620 DVD burner(its just not working at all no lights , nothing) . And Im looking for a place to start. Heres a screen of what I see under its properties. Thanks for any help !

Are you running any type of Vitural drive software, like Daemon Tools? There are some others that do something like this can't think of them off hand.

Try uninstalling the ide controller and restarting to let Windows install the generic ide driver. I've had trouble like that with the nvidia drivers on my system.
