X2 4200+ worth picking up as an upgrade?

I was considering picking up an X2 4200+ Manchester for $200 while I still can and potentially adding a 10,000 RPM Raptor HD to my system that I would run my games from. I would also plan on overclocking the 4200+ to hopefully get at least a couple hundred extra mhz out of it. Does this sound like a worthy investment over my 3200+ single core 2.0 ghz (oc'd to 2.35) or just a waste of money?

Or what about an X2 3800+ Manchester... looks like people can OC those like crazy.

Get the raptor,in fact get 2 raptors and RAID them and wait about 6 months or more for an x2

Each will provide a noticeable overall increase in performance. But, as an X2 owner, there's no way I'll ever own another single-core rig. In fact, having one makes the upgrade to a raptor increasingly important.

FWIW the 4200+ will be a Manchester also, and likely will go higher because it starts at 2.2ghz rather than 2.0.

It makes a slow hard drive, or any hard drive for that matter, seem even slower. The faster the cpu/memory/video becomes, the more disproportionate the time wasted waiting on a drive to cough up data becomes.

Go for it. 200MHz more and an extra core. Gotta love the price cuts. My x2 gets to to 2.4 on stock cooling no problems. Most people can hit 2.6.
