What do you guys think? Does is scream "Lamborghini" at you? Do the price hike and hardware specs make sense at all?

The price definately screams Lamborghini. For that price I'd expect better performance - the Core Duo and also a better suited GPU. Alot of cash for the flashy color & name.

Agreed -- the new Core 2 Duo would be a much better choice I think. Probably we'll see that soon though as the Asus PR specifically mentioned other upcoming products.

Whats the deal with a GeForce Go 7400? they should have used a 7600 just like the new Turion 64 X2 laptop they released, Asus Z92T.
probably they picked the 'best' when they started drawing,so at that time...you get the idea![]()

Yeah, I think the system specs are bit behind where Asus hadn't wanted them thanks to a VERY long lead time on the release of the notebook.
We started hearing about the Asus/Lambo deal back in April
It's hardware is hardly akin to the Lamborghini name, though it's slim profile and light weight are. I'd expect a drive that was faster than 5400RPM or two drives in a RAID0 array. I'd also expect more powerful graphics.
The Acer Ferarri series aren't exactly top of the line either, so it seems as though this rig is designed as a direct competitor to those. Out of the Ferarri and the Lamborghini I would be inclined to go with the latter simply because I feel that ASUS make a more robust laptop than Acer do.
If you're going to spend big money for a brand name, better to burn it on Alienware. You can get a more powerful rig from them for a much lower price tag. With this Lamborghini, you're paying for the name.
