I think you need to respond to the suggestions regarding Memtest (suggested twice) and the drive diagnostics. Tell us what you find out.

Are you going to update both threads? You at least need to link to both.

We have had two of these systems for a couple years.
There are two areas that will cause a multiplude of problems.
The first thing is what memory are you running?
These AV8's are extremely picky of memory.
We need the exact make, model, information on the memory sticks.
The last thing is your powersupply. Does your powersupply have over 24amper rating on the 12v line?
If it is a low end powersupply with 12-16 amper rating, you will need to upgrade that appliance.
Remember to make a sig, tell us the make and model of your hardware and which driver versions you are using to run those components.

I have one of these boards and they're not the least bit picky about memory unless one is overclocking. The motherboard has little to do with memory on an A64 platform, the CPU and BIOS are the limiting factors.

Check my system link too see the memory I have.

Ill run memtest just in case,I ran it with my old memory and it passed fine, and system had same problem, but Ill run it with new memory just in case.Prime95 ran overnight just fine full load on both cores with temps reaching 80 degrees and it didnt crash.
My PSU has a dual 12V line with a combined total of almost 30 amps on them
Will also try running drive diagnostics, time to pull out ultimate boot cd
It only crashes while gaming, but like I said I disabled the onboard LAN and stuck another NIC I had laying around and so far so good, but I dont want to get my hopes up because even before I would get the crash maybe once every 2 or 3 days,so Im just gonna play games constantly to test stability, will post results later.
I do know one thing,I regret getting this board, shoulda got the Asrock Dual SATA2

Your PSU should be fine. Sounding more and more like a video driver problem to me primarily because it only does it when gaming. Mine has run folding 24/7 at 100% load on both cores of a 4400 X2 chip and 2 gigs of memory for weeks on end without any problems at all.

I visited Corsair's website and checked for the proper memory for the AV8.

The memory you list in the sig::XMS500CMX1024_4000
Is not listed for the AV8 anywhere.

The memory for the AV8 Corsair is this::

    TwinX2048_4400C2PT
    TwinX2048_4400C25
    CMX1024-3200Pro
    CMX1024-3200PT
    CMX1024-3200C2
These are listed for the AV8.

    Patriot XBLK
    Patriot LLK
    Mushkin 991357
These above are some of the memories we have used with our AV8's. Not a problem one.

The fellow that states the AV8 is not picky on memory.
He evidently has not installed the wrong memory ever, or he would know just how picky they are.
Not trying to start anything just stating the facts.

What is the old memory you have?

Picky in the context of operating outside of AMD's specs and/or the mobo maker's recommendations, of course. It allways pays to know what is and is not normal operation.

Old memory was Corsair as well CMX1024-3200C2PT I think.
Anyways I ran chkdsk on both my HDs and it found one bad cluster on main drive and corrected it.But I highly doubt that was the problem anyways.
Will leave memtest running overnight.Right now Im gonna go have a long gaming session and see if its stable

If checkdisk found a bad cluster then you should run the drive manufacturer's diagnostics on that drive asap.

Yeah I tried finding a manufacturer diagnostic tool,I looked on ulimate boot cd and it had seagate tools but couldnt find anything for diagnostics just the usual stuff for installing a new drive like formatting or writing zeros.I also found my seagate cd and couldnt find anything for diagnostics on that either.
If you can help me out to figure out how to run diagnostics that would be great.I have seagate disc wizard and seagate disk manager plz show me where with these tools is the diagnostics thingy

I recommend seagate's Seatools Diagnostics desktop edition for the most complete checkup.

BobyJo, are you talking about Abit AV8 or Asus A8V ? I see you show Abit AV8 in your sig.
And in both of your posts you mention AV8.
    Ganj has an Asus A8v.
