Maxtor HDD's & NVIDIA nForce Chipset Compatibility Issue...

Maxtor have acknowledged that there is a compatibility issue between some of their HDDs & Motherboard with nForce Chipset. Here's a link to Maxtor's website:

    http://maxtor.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/m...p?p_faqid=2685

Unfortunately, I have these combos & that's why I'm here. I'm waiting for Maxtor to respond to my email requesting a Firmware to fix my MaxLine Pro HDD so it'll be compatible
with my A8N-SLI Mobo. In the meantime...I was wondering if anyone has this Firmware that
Maxtor is talking about. Help Anyone?

    Thanks a bunch!

Re: Maxtor HDD's & NVIDIA nForce Chipset Compatibility Issue...

I read this straight away before buying my Maxtor 250gb HDD as I already bought my nForce4 board 2 months before. As of the 1st day I booted up and installed XP Pro I have had no issues everything is running smooth and the performance is excellent.

The drive is slightly noisy sometimes thou my Hitachi Deskstar 80GB drive that was in my old PC was dead quite but my Maxtor is doing great.
