    Updating your HDD's firmware

Is this commonly done? Do people do this quite often for some sort of performance boost on their drive? If so, where does one go to get their HDD's firmware updated? I have searched all over the net for a Seagate Firmware update for my Dual 80GB Barracuda's but cannot find one anywhere. Is it really worth the risk at all??

Wonk is right. Firmware updates are something that must be done through the manufacturer's servie/support division.
