    Email issues

I'm currently with Adelphia which is switching to Roadrunner.

Anyway, something is eating my pop3 emails. What's most likely - AVG Anti virus, thunderbird or some strange adelphia thing. Tried gmail set up as pop3 and same thing - but when using the web interface no eaten emails.

One thing I noticed, I would actually see AVG activity, but the email wouldn't actually arrive - not even in "junk" (a Thunderbird spam folder).

Anyone heard of emails just disappearing?

If the web interface has them, even from adelphia, then the only thing that is different on your desktop e-mail client is that the mail goes through something on your computer, so I'd guess AVG. Try going to the AVG Control center, and disabling the e-mail scanning as a test.

I did think it was AVG, but now I'm not so sure. I uninstalled it and same issue - emails sent to the address just never show (pop3 wise).

Ok, it's not avg - that was a problem, but now I've installed w/o the email scanner plugin.

Anyway, thought I've followed directions to the lettter, the gmail pop3 feature doesn't seem to be working - if I "enable" for all mail, I can download a bunch - new and old - but then no more.

Is Thunderbird marking them as junk mail? Enable, and then check, the junk mail log.

Nope - they're actually not coming in - and they are, of course, arriving, if I look at the web based Gmail.

open your email express >tools>account>Highlight the name of your account>delete it> close it> reopen the email> then if the email wizard comes up go through the set up again. hope fully u have all the information u need or phone support to help u walk through as some pop3 and smtp may deferr address but most are usualy the same. now as for gmail see if u can add the pop3 and smtp from Gmail u may have to ask if there are any setup to connect to the gmail through the outlook express hope this help a bit

    Re: Email issues

Sounds like this issue to me....

Actually would just about bet on it 99.9%....

You need to delete some of the email that you have currently as you must be seriously over the limit of bow much it can hold......
you will have to delete them this way shift+del key to permanatly delete them to get things right again. Just went thru this at work with the boss's machine, he keeps all the emails he recieves and never dumps them......

you will probably not recieve the emails that you have already tried to d/l to the client, but if you do, Tell me what you did to get them as his just seemed to go poof....lol
doesnt now, since the anal cleansing I did to it...
    good luck!

    Re: Email issues

Then let's try this from a different perspective, what software do you use? Does it have an options to 'Test Email Settings' when you configure your account? If it does, what does it tell you?
