I can recommend www.overclock.co.uk as a good source of competitively priced components. Delivery varies from around £6 to £10 plus VAT for next day courier, but the speed and customer service is pretty good.

If we are into naming suppliers then you could also give www.tekheads.co.uk a go. Purchased some stuff from recently and although there were some problems my persistance ensured that they are/will be resolved.

Also, um, Mid West and NY don't go too well geographically speaking Unless you meant you *were* in the mid-west and are now in NY?

This public service announcement for all you your Brits stuck in the country which butchers your native tongue (USA) may be a little late, but keep this in mind come August.

You can keep abreast of football during the season on the Fox Sports Channel; they have weekly roundup of British Football gleaned from SKY Sports. They also cover some of the more imporant matches like the European Champions League.

As for the show, ignore the host; he's as ignorant of the sport as 99% of the rest of us Yanks. At least you can watch what's going on from Old Trafford and with those new "widget" cans, you can pour yourself a Boddingtons which isn't too far from the real thing.

Shoxx, yep I know Aria well and I have bought quite a bit from them, however their after service and customer care sucks. Luckily I only buy the top quailty stuff so I haven't had many problems but I know others who have had nightmares. Beware Scan too, they don't give a shit about the customer and are even rude when you are in the trade desk area.

Zep: I try, I really really try to watch that show, but that presenter is an utter ass. He cannot string one sentence together that makes him look either knowlegable of soccer or even a half decent TV presenter.

I ended up paying for PPV TV, it's $12 a game but at least it's SKY with Andy Gray commentating. (I never thought I'd see the day when I'd prefer to listen to Andy Gray )

    Sir:

I enjoy Andy and he's a damn sight better as a commentator than as a coach, and certainly better than that moron who is the host. But you gotta love it when Andy blurts out in his thickest accent..."Looook at the accuracy!"

My son is the true football afficinado in the family. He just turns off the sound and watches the action.

Here's a trick that sometimes works too.. BBC Radio 5 sometimes broadcasts the matches live on the Radio and on the internet. With some creative positioning of the TV and the PC you can turn the sound off the TV and listen to the Radio 5 commentry. This also works for some of the other sports too. I remember finding a 5 nations match being shown on some Spanish station (my Spanish is, um, not good ), so tune to Radio 5 on the internet and I got an English commentary.

Yeah like Apotheosis said, overclock.co.uk seem to have good service in terms of speed and quality. Not the biggest overclocking retailer in the UK mind you, but because of that, they tend to be more open to product and service suggestions. I have suggested a number of products along with other people and they do their best to get them in at a competitive price. For example, they have the excellent Chieftec/Antec cases including the black one, which are hard to buy in the UK.

ok people I have a plan, post (or email me) the names of companies u use regularly for bits and pieces and I'll set up a vote to c which company is the best/most preferred company in Britain, that way new comers to this wonderful little forum we have wont have the misfortune of ordering from a lousy company.

    Right,

    Companies I use regularly

    www.theoverclockingstore.co.uk (for stuff)
    www.overclockers.co.uk (for stuff)
www.aria.co.uk (for my Lian Li PC60 (cheapest around btw))

www.overclockers.co.uk is cheapest if you are buying quantities of things as you pay postage but if you order a lot then its well worth it. www.theoverclockingstore.co.uk is great for the odd item, but quite pricy if buying a couple of things. Both offer fast service but www.theoverclockingstore.co.uk wins with all time record, order at 3pm arrives at door 8:25am next day with FREE postage Now THATS service
