    Global Score and Career Points
    Battlefield 2142 introduces a new system, the Career Points. The global score is what everyone is used to from Battlefield 2, all the points you make by kills, team actions and capturing points. These have been altered a bit (see below). New is the career points.

    Career points are based on global score. So if you make 10 global score in a round, that counts towards your career points. On top of that come the awards. Each award (with the exception of medals) give you additional career points. As ribbons and badges can only be gotten once, the pins get a very important position here. You can get most pins multiple times in one round, which can increase your career points extremely.

    Your rank is depending on the career points, not on your global score. So if you make 10 points by normal playing as global score, and get an award worth 10 career points, you will have a total of 20 careeer points from that round. This way your rank will increase a lot faster (and get you more unlocks) if you get the awards.

    Skilled-Base-Score
    Kill +1 points
    Destroy of Strategic Object +1 points
    Destroy Titan Weapon +2 points
    Destroy Titan Core +2 points
    Repair Titan Weapon +2 points

    Team Score
    Kill Assist +0.5 point
    Driver Kill Assist +0.5 point
    Revive (only Medic) +1 point
    Resupply (only Support) +1 point
    Repair (only Engineer) +1 point

    Score Punishment
    Teamkill -3 points
    Suicide -2 points
    Team damage -1 points
    Team Vehicle Damage -1 point

    Commander Score
    Winning Commander Average team score x2
    Losing Commander Average team score -50%

    Score Limits
    There are score limits in the game for player actions. The Titan weapons limit is a count of wepaons, so you can only get points for destroying weapons and repair points for repairing weapons, not more than stated here. Every weapon you destroy or repair after that will not give you any points anymore.

    * Repair: 50
    * Heal: 50
    * Resupply: 100
    * Titan Weapons Destroy: 8
    * Titan Weapons Repair: 8

    Some of that was good info, some of it basic info that I would hope is common sense to everyone...I'll try and add some stuff to this thread if I think some up. I always try to be sneaky.

    Re: BF2142 Tips and hints

    On the Command screen, how do I bring up the menu that has "Commend Squad", "Need reinforcements on titan", "Rebuke squad", etc?

    I can't figure out how to do it, but I've seen it by accident several times and when I try to duplicate what I did, it won't show up.

    Top left of the commander screen has a whole host of buttons and symbols, just to the left of the icon representing what kit every squad member is there is an icon, right click it and you should get a menu appear that lets you select what you want to tell them. When in doubt right click some of these icons, they do different things hehe.

    EDIT2: Verified and added APC rear weak spots found by Eagolye

    ***********

    So I got bored with the Demo after about 3 hours. It's very one dimensional without unlocks. So I decided to do something productive with my time, downloaded the server files, and set up a dedicated server on my PC.

    Spawned as Engineer, went Commander, and got one of each vehicle at a flag with a railgun to test them all against each other. This is what I found.

    Most Damage:
    Railgun
    Engineer AT Missle
    Tank Main Gun
    Mech Rocket Pods
    APC Grenade Launcher

    Engineer vs Walker:
    AT missle to the upper torso does 18 damage.
    AT missle to anywhere on the legs is 35 damage.
    AT missle to the rear lower torso (butt) does 55 damage.
    AT missle to the underbelly "Skywalker Vent" sets the walker on fire in one shot.
    1 Bullet = 1 Damage to these vents also.

    Engineer vs APC:
    AT missle to the front does 33 damage.
    AT missle to the sides/rear/top all do 45 damage.
    You can hit the wheels from the front and get the 45 damage also.
    AT missle to the rear lower hull (see pics) does 58 damage.

    Engineer vs Tank:
    AT missle to the front armor does 25 damage.
    AT missle to the front tracks does 37 damage.
    AT missle to the side does 50 damage.
    AT missle to the rear is an instant kill.

    Vehicle vs Vehicle damages appear to be the same regardless of attack angle.

    Tank vs Walker:
    Tank does 20 damage to upper torso
    Tank does 30 damage to legs
    Tank does 50 damage to rear lower torso

    Tank vs APC:
    Same as Engineer vs APC

    APC vs Anything:
    Don't bother unless it's smoking. Each GL hit does ONE damage.

    Walker vs Tank
    Each rocket does 16 damage

    Walker vs APC
    Each rocket does 20 damage

    Other things I have noted:

    The AT missles, when lauched at close range, will hit closer to the bottom of the aiming recticle. At med-long range they home to the center as you'd expect. This will undoubtedly cause cries of "My missle went through the target." So keep it in mind.

    The walker's rockets fire in a left-right-left pattern. You can increase their accuracy by putting your x-hair to the opposite side of the target. Example: I'm walking up on a tank. I aim at the right track and my first rocket hits center, quickly move aim to the left track and my next rocket hits center again. This is most helpfull when you are trying to hit a normal target at medium range, or a small target at short range.

    *Update* 10-08-06

    Consollus made me go back and look at the walkers again, and it turns out they do indeed have one HUGE weak spot on their underside. Not something you can toss a grenade in like everyone thought, but one you can empty a clip into and destroy an already damaged walker.

    First the EU Riesig:

    See where the bullet holes are on either side? That's where to aim. If you don't see any bullet holes appear, you aren't doing any damage. I emptied my SMG into one and knocked off 25 damage. Now the Bogatyr.

    The Bogatyr's vent is MUCH harder to hit. You have to be standing almost right between the legs to hit it. A prone Enineer can actually hit the vents on the Riesig from a little ways off. Try this on the Bogatyr, and you'll end up hitting that protruding piece of armor behind it which registers as a front torso shot. So don't turn a 55 damage shot into an 18 damage one.

    Keep in mind those shots are taken of an empty walker which sits lower to the ground. A moving enemy walker is going to sit higher and be much harder to hit. If you do manage to get close enough to pop an AT missle in that vent, well to quote POD... "BOOM!"

    Be wery wery quiet. I'm hunting Battle Walkers. Heh... Heh... Heh...

    *Update* 10-12-06 (Copy & Pasted from Eagoyle's post on page 5.)

    There is a sopt on the APCs that does 58 points of damage. It is a very small location on the rear of the vehicle.

    Here is a pic for the location for the EU APC.

    And the PAC APC.

    You need ot hit the angled part(EU) or the vents (PAC). If you accidently hit the above or below this, you will only do 45 damage.

    Please (continue to) add your own tips.

    That is a nice find CT! Those tactics are practically the same from BF1942. To get on hit kills with the sherman tank, you had to get a direct hit from behind or hit the top of the turret.
