    Help, gigabyte ga-7n400 pro2 rev1.0 problem

    System specifications:

    Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-7n400 pro2 rev 1.x
CPU: AMD Athlon XP 2600+ 1920 MHz (Barton)
    Memory: 2x512 Kingmax Tiny BGA
HDD: Maxtor ATA 133 7200 rpm
Video: Asus ATI Radeon 9600 XT 128 MB
    Audio: C-Media CMI8738 PCI
    Onboard LAN: Realtek 8169
    LAN: Surecom EP-320X-S PCI

    I have the following problem:

When i run a game, after some time the display screen turns black and the computer shuts down.

I belive its a driver conflict or a driver problem.
I use the nvidia chipset drivers for GA-7n400 pro2 from the gigabyte website.
The video driver is a tweaked one called Omega Radeon Driver, because the ATI drivers are very unstable.

If you could offer some suggestions i gladly expect them.
I hope i will solve this problem because its very annoying.
    Thanks

    pkkilleru,

Is this a new problem or how long has this been going on?

How long has this system been together... might be time to pull the memory, cpu and heatsink and give them a good cleaning.

You dont state what psu you have....would be intresting to know... perhaps it is starting to drop power?

Did you check your vid card fan for proper cleaning... and dont forget to clean its fan also..

    Just some ideas

they are very clean, a friend of mine has almost the same configuration
an abit nforce 2 motherboard and a gecube radeon 9600 xt, and his computer restarts, it doesnt shut down, ive seen that gigabyte motherboards shut down the system maybe to prevent damage or i dunno. if i have a hardware problem what could it be. my cpu cooler is thermaltake slim volcano 10+. i still think its a driver problem because if i turn the agp fast writes off then it doesnt shut down, but the games are loaded for ages.
