Yeah it's a fair bit harder on medium. The way I done it was to forget about building anything other than mammoth tanks. So build a few refineries, war factory, command post, then tech center and loads of mammoth tanks. Tell nod to bring it on!! Them other tanks are a waste of money. Oh and research the rail gun upgrade for your mammoths, its far better than your standard cannon.
the demo was good. doesn't stray too far from good ol' c&c gameplay
Try a little hack:
In the selection menu, the shortcut keys are 'G' for GDI, 'N' for Nod and 'S' for Aliens.
Position the mouse cursor over Nod in the side selection area and click 'Nod' while at the same time press 'N' key.
Doing this will select your side as Nod.
You can also make the computer play GDI, by selecting difficulty and then clicking GDI while pressing 'G' key.
There's no units or structures for Aliens so don't waste your time!
Let me know if it works for ya'll.
Enjoy

I smell an expansion to CNC3.

You can also use the hotkey method to change AI behavior. 'R' is rush, 'T' for turtle, and 'B' for balanced. Now I can't say with 100% certainty that the behaviors are programmed in the demo, but Turtle did seem to build a bit more in the line of defenses.
Having been playing Nod for a ~week now, I really like the feel of them. At first the switch from GDI to Nod was hard. Nods base defenses are crap with the exception of the Obelisk (and with 4 beam tanks its range is huge). Nod's units on the individually are weak as hell (exception of the fully upgraded Avatar) but you get used to constantly building tanks and such, Nod gets much easier. and holy crap, fanatics are incredible, build 10 squads of those freaks, set them on aggressive and watch them rain destruction. Personally I find their arm flailing hilarious.![]()

I think EA did a better job on Generals. That game was fantastic!

You know, I thought nods defenses sucked as well but I have learned they are meant to be used in conjunction with the stealth generator (or whatever it’s called now). GDI defenses you can attack directly, but with the hub defenses, the cannons de-stealth to fire at enemies but the hub stays under the cloak field, making them much harder to directly target if cloaked.
I also enjoy playing nod more, I think their air units are much better as well. However I still don’t see the advantage to reflecting a beam tank shot off of a venom yet, is it just slightly longer range? I initaly thought it might be like the juggernauts ability to shoot anywhere on the map If a pathfinder is in range, regardless of where the juggernaut is, but that’s not the case.
Another method to dealing with Medium and beyond difficulty, is to not even worry about building tanks (I don't even build a war factory early on). An effective solution is to train rocket squads and at the same time build an Armory for snipers and garrison snipers and rocket guys in the building in front of your base. Next start laying down Goliath cannons for stealth detection and added early tank defense (build them right next to the buildings that have your rocket and sniper guys). The next tech i go for is Sonic turrets which rape just about everything. Once you get this defense setup, the game is pretty much set for you, all you have to do is watch for the Temple of Nod.
