    Epox SmartFan function not working?!

Can you tell me why the smartfan function on Epox boards are not working at all? My HSF has 3 pin connector but my old MSI mobo was able to control fan speed through bios.

It does neither work for cpu nor case fans.

I didn't change default temp settings in bios. It should definetely slow down fan speed since my cpu temp around 35C idle. I'm using Epox MGF6100-M AM2 mainboard as you can see on my system specs.

you will need a 4-pin fan for PWM fan speed control otherwise you wont be able to control speed, only monitor.

So Epox doesn't have the knowledge and technology that MSI has.

not exactly. it's the opposite actually

epox went one step further and provided PWM fan control, a feature that MSI AM2 boards dont have.

i do agree that not being able to control fan speed with a 3-pin fan might be disappointing but at the same time epox implemented PWM fan control, a more advanced approach to fan controlling

Oh yes, they have the technology which %99 of their users don't use. Well done Epox!
