    different board new problem

    got another sli-dr from new egg today one of their open box specials, problem is it wont boot unless i clear cmos every time, dont have to pull the battery just kill the power and move it to clear for a sec and it will boot again use the sig i have and change the boards, i know i have seen this on a forum somewhere but can not remember where and what the solution was, anyone got an idea?


    well apparently it did not like that cpu tried another and works fine go figure.

    Check all the jumpers and make sure they're in the proper position. Secondly, you might try putting in a fresh CMOS battery.

    Which CPU's were they that you tried?

    got it working, forgot the 3400+ had to be det to htt of 4 to work and the 4600 just took right off working on a overclock for it had it going for 10 hrs at 3120 but errored and now wont go at all so going lower.

    You might have to play with the timings too. DIY Street (formerly DFI Street) has some great timing guides in their DFI area, and some of them may be linked in the DFI Builder's Guide that Electric Bill started...it's one of the sticky's.

    yep worked it out , its already in your timing database at 3060 i think.
