also, start, rightclick on 'my computer' and go to the 'advanced' tab, click on settings under 'performance' and select 'adjust for best performance' . the eye candy will go away but your machine will feel much faster. also get voptxp 7 http://www.vopt.com/ and defrag your hdd.
try superspyware removal for spyware, antivir for viruses.

I'd recommend posting a HijackThis log here. It'll give you a comprehensive list of what's starting on your PC. Be careful what you "Fix" with hijack this because it will also list important apps that are starting with your PC.
In my sig, you'll see two links that can help you here - Guide to Speeding Up Windows and the Services Guide.

when u dont know what a process is, google it. chances are a few ppl before you have inquired about it. lets take hpsysdrv.exe as an exemple.
you go to google.com and pop it into the search box.
If you disable the Indexing Service, I recommend you also remove indexes. Start Menu > Run and type ciadv.msc. Right click the index in the left pane to see the option to delete it.
Also, go to Start Menu > Programs > Startup and remove the MS Office (OneNote?) shortcut from there.
Somewhere in IObit SmartDefrag settings, there should be an option to turn off realtime defragmenting. Not sure what it'd be called, but basically an option to constantly monitor your hard drive's fragmentation. When you find it, turn it off and just run the defrag tool manually from time to time.
You might also like to open your C:\WINDOWS\Prefetch folder and delete the contents. Basically prefetching is loading parts of programs when Windows loads so that they load quicker when Windows is up and running. It contains a bunch of programs that you probably won't use often. If the contents are deleted, they will be rebuilt as you use the programs or when you install more programs. Personally I like to disable this altogether by disabling the Task Scheduler Service.
After you do all of that, run HijackThis again and tick the following entries and "fix them":
O4 - Global Startup: hp psc 1000 series.lnk = ?
O8 - Extra context menu item: &Search - http://kl.bar.need2find.com/KL/menusearch.html?p=KL
O18 - Filter: text/html - (no CLSID) - (no file)
If you don't use AIM every time you boot Windows, remove the following entry and use a shortcut to run it when you need it:
You might also like to take a screenie of Task Manager and post it here so we can see what you're looking at. You can resize Task Manager by clicking and dragging the bottom right corner.
