    A8r-mvp

Picked up this board a couple of months ago. I have it up and running. i've read alot about this board and the trouble with it.

    system specs.
    A8R-MVP_bios. date 12/26/05
    148 opteron
    2 gigs GSkill HZ PC4000
    ATI Radeon X800XL
    1 74gig.WD Raptor
FSP Group Fortron Source) AX500-A, 2.0

    I'm sp2004 stable 10 hours. @ 273 x 11 3003.0MHz. 1.450 over volt enabled
I put my mem on the 183/180 divider which puts me right @ 250MHz.
I can pass SuperPI 32m but sp2004 fails after a hour or so.

So being my first Asus board and probably not the best choice. Maybe Some of you could take a look at these mem timings and give me some suggestions on mem settings that will be stable or close to, and I could work from there.
    DDR Voltage 2.70
    CL. 3
    TRAS 8
    TRP 4
    TRCD 4
    TRRD 2
    TRC 11
    TRFC Auto
    TRWT 4
    Read preamble 5.5ns
    async latency 7.0ns
    CMC 2T
    bank interleaving AUTO
    Burst length 4
    Hardware memory hole disabled

    Thank's

    Bump up to the top.

    And, just a comment...

    Well here's the problem IMO:

Thats...pretty high. If it were me, I would make every attempt to be happy with that, or even with 2900 Mhz.

275 MHz. is not that high for this motherboard. As far as the 148 Opterons there are plenty of them doing 3GHz. plus out there, thats not suicide screenshots of superPI 1m thats atleast 8 hours prime stable with scores from futuremark programs and superPI 32m. The memory G Skill HZ PC4000/DDR500 most sticks are capable of higher then rated speeds. I'm running on a 180 divider which puts my MEM. to 250 MHz. DDR500 it's rated speed. the A8R-MVP limits me in VCore voltage from going any higher. So I'm happy with 3003.0 MHz.
Being new to Asus motherboards I was looking for advice on memory settings.

    Thank's for the input.

with a little bit of tweaking.

All in all even with the knowen issues this board has, it's a pretty simple board to OC with.
