Re: The Great Global Warming Swindle

Hey, this stuff is not fake... the oceans have been rising at a steady rate since 1880 at least... according to this pretty graph made by scientists... it MUST be a man made problem. Its never risen or receded before mankind burned oil and replaced bison farts with cow farts. We need to stop producing C02!!! We're all gonna die unless we fix it!!!

No surprise, the folks are caring less and less about the freak-outs. Algoreithms said we'd be drowned already.

I'm kinda snickering that Seattle is so bothered by smoke from area fires. The Greenies have not allowed logging and thinning, no clearing deadfalls,. Now that is biting them in the posterior.

BARTH & GRIMES: California Burns: The 'New Normal' Thanks To Obama-Era Environmental Regulations

"Hotter, drier, longer forest fires we are witnessing today have nothing to do with dangerous manmade climate change. They have a lot to do with idiotic forest mismanagement policies and practices."
Paul Driessen, Senior Policy Advisor, CFACT
This past week, The New York Times reported on California’s wildfires stating that “Since 2012, according to state emergency management officials, there has not been a month without a wildfire burning — a stark contrast to previous decades, when fire officials saw the fall and winter as a time to plan and regroup,”

    What’s the significance of 2012?
It is interesting that The New York Times mentioned the 2012 date, but only attributed the wildfire increases to “the recent historic drought” and “rising temperatures” caused by climate change. Nothing could be further from the truth.
As California burns, many Californians have been asking why the dramatic increasein wildfires in the last five years? Except for Governor Jerry Brown. Governor Brown claims that devastating fires are the "new normal." Supporting Obama-era regulations have resulted in the new normal: an endless and devastating fire season.
    . . .

"The most dangerous myth is the demagoguery that business can be made to pay a larger share, thus relieving the individual. Politicians preaching this are either deliberately dishonest, or economically illiterate, and either one should scare us...
Only people pay taxes, and people pay as consumers every tax that is assessed against a business."

Absolutely true. Mother Natureís way of regenerating the forest out with the old in with the new. The problem is to many people live in wildfire prone areas and in those areas the forest has to be properly maintained. Clear beetle kill pines and make paper straws out of them. Selective logging to thin out the forest. Brush and understory can be taken care of with controlled burns and year around hand crews. Environmentalists be damned...

Logging. Plain and simple. Enviros hate folks profiting over natural resources, but that's the solution.

On its own, the forest overgrew itself, became susceptible to the devastating bark beetles and now we have over 100 million standing dead worthless trees. Those trees explode with fire.

Lefties will scream "clear cutting is terrible", because noone is calling for clear cutting anything.

Make it profitable and the loggers will show up.

Sidenote: Liberals love to ban fireplaces and woodstoves because of smoke. They like to ban things that create CO2. Both are created in spades by these fires. But their only answer in the Golden State is more government (taxpayer) subsidized solar panels, windmills, and 'lectric cars. Oh, and drain the reservoirs to save the unthreatened Delta Smelt.

Iíve watched beetle kill pines explode like a wooden match head. If thereís money to be made from logging they will come. In the western states drought ( nothing new about drought in the western states) weakened pines in a forest to heavy with trees is a disaster waiting. Populated areas get the dozers in there and cut fire lines, maintain them.

Re: The Great Global Warming Swindle

^^^ On our property alone we lost a dozen trees to the bark beetle two years ago and thirteen last year. One was over 200 feet tall, we counted over 140 rings at the lowest cut. So over the past couple years we've had about 40 days with crews of about half a dozen men with logging trucks, skid steers, excavators, etc., cutting, brushing and clearing the property. I lost count of the loads of pine taken out of here and its all worthless. Bark beetle wood is devoid of sap so it even sucks as firewood. Most of ours was ground up for horse bedding.

What seems lost in the equation is the difference between profiting from cutting timber and the cost of fighting fires and taking down the beetle trees. The diffence is billions of dollars pissed up a rope. Its insane.

And the Donnel fire is right up the road. Talk about insane. It was a beautiful slice of the Sierra and now its a war zone. The Dardanelles are literally gone. Zip. Zap.

Moonbeam and the liberals that run this state can f**k off as far as most of us around here are concerned. They've turned a beautiful state into a sespool of idiocy.

    And Yosemite is burning. Shlt.

Itís craziness... Bullet Trains, solar panels and illegals drain the taxpayer. Moonbeam and his pals scream more more more. The whole state south to north has wild fires the cost is enormous when compared to fire prevention. They blame global warming so more solar panels and windmills is the answer. When you build a house solar panels, fire sprinkler systems, rain gutters and other stuff are mandatory. The building codes are ridiculous in most places.

^^^ I live with the codes everyday. Code compliance used to take about a quarter of a 24" x 36" page. Now its four full sheets. CalGreen requirements are a whole sheet. Wildlife Urban Interface is another couple of sheets. Title 24 (energy calcs) is a separate small book for every project.

Sad thing is, a lot of the requirements stifle innovation and make it harder to do things like rammed earth, bale walls, large windows, large overhangs, and a bunch of other cool stuff. They're even getting their nose in tree houses.

    But Trump is authoritarian.

^^^ Just did one where the permit fees, water and power hook up, and bedroom taxes amounted to about $70,000. Krazy.
