lol, 1st in a line, so much for the repeated victim shtick. Dutch is always so sure of himself.

And obviously you don't read my posts through because you never respond to the points.

BK, preachy? No, nostalgic. I just figured with all the rants and games it was about guys having trouble holding a simple discussion with someone having a different opinion. My opinion was we all needed a reminder of what Jimz and Vihs used to stand for here in TLR, considering the OK Corral this place has become.

    a repost of this again?

    So what do you believe?

That no funding for alternative energy? That no funding for farmers dealing with droughts, heat waves, freezes, or floods?

No new sats in the sky to better see whether or not there is or is not warming?

2005 had 15 hurricanes out of 31 tropical storms, 2010 had 12 out of 21- none of which were as severe as the majors of 2005.
    http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/2010atlan.shtml

2005 had 13 Pacific typhoons out of 23 tropical storms, 2010 had only 7 out of 14.
    http://www.ask.com/wiki/2010_Pacific_typhoon_season

Also 2006,7,8, and 9 were total busts by comparison to either season. The 1950s had more major storms than the 2000s and hurricanes.
Though hurricanes Carrie and Hazel were very powerful storms (150mph+) 50 years ago, none one were a match for those of 2005 (170mph+) and we have not seen the like since in the Gulf/Atlantic.

However, MMGW induced weather is supposed to be a GLOBAL problem. After all it IS Global Warming.

It turns out that the 2005 Eastern Pacific Hurricane season was weak as well as the 2005 Pacific Typhoon season- whose storms normally well exceed their Atlantic cousins (180-195mph)- which topped out at only 125mph. The Central Pacific did have a record breaker in the 2000 decade but that was in 2006. So expecting us to buy the "global" argument for 2005 also looks like a bust. In fact, so does looking at 2010. The worst typoon season recorded was in 1964 and many were far worse than any in the 2000s. No 2005 typoon even made the top 50 worst typhoons and only 1 (Megi) checked in on this list at #12 during 2010.

    And for 2010?
Due to a moderate La Niña, the 2010 Atlantic hurricane season was well above-average with the most number of named storms since 2005. The 2010 Atlantic season ties with the 1995 Atlantic hurricane season and the 1887 Atlantic hurricane season for the third largest number of named storms, with 19, and it also ties with the 1969 Atlantic hurricane season and 1887 for the second largest number of hurricanes, with 12.[2] In addition, the activity in the north Atlantic in 2010 exceeded the activity in the northwest Pacific Typhoon season. The only other known time this event happened was in 2005. [3]

In fairness, I don't read his posts in this thread anymore. WAY too much quoting going on in there for me to sift through, and although I don't have anything personally against otoc, he and I are at polar opposites when it comes to MMGW...err climate change, or whatever it's being called this month. I saw his new "V6" moniker under his name so I felt compelled to see the new changes this version brought in his sig.

Otoc, I've been posting here in TLR since day one. If anything I believe that as of the last year or two it has become more lax than I've ever seen it. Makes sense as there just isn't near as much action at PCPer as there used to be. Heh, I remember back to a time, maybe a couple of years after TLR started. Now THAT was the OK Corral! There were entire threads getting deleted with both sides of the argument claiming Vihs was wrong for deleting it at all. Tawcan got so pissed off at trying to mod TLR that he left, but not without giving me an infraction first.

Lets face it, any time you have a forum with people "debating" issues such as the hot ones we debate here, people are eventually going to start yelling and screaming at each other. I've said time and again that I have no problem with that as it's human nature. In the end the whole thing is totally pointless anyway. I have as much a chance of changing your mind to match mine on the issue of "MMGWclimatechangeglobalwarming" as you do changing mine.

lol, anytime. Actually that quote came from a wikisite, and if I'm not mistaken, I haven't called anyone an idiot in a very long time. Nor have you explained anything 5 times.

^^^ Seems pretty clear to me. No more funding for your MMGW cult done under the guise of studying "climate change".. the two are not the same thing no matter how your cult wants to spin the nomer.

Face it.. you cultists have placed your cause above science. And now would have us believe the only ones qualified to provide useful input on MMGW are a select few within the cult's own community whom hide behind their precious "peer review" claims. Hiding and destroying data and methods:

    or simply labeling dissenters:

Indeed technology and data handling capabilities have evolved and not everything was saved. So my feeble suggestion is to indeed cast aspersions on their motives and throw in some counter rhetoric. Labeling them as lazy with nothing better to do seems like a good thing to do.
Ya.. it's all about science for your "peer reviewed" realclimate team.

    A few other quotables:

get rid of the Medieval Warm Period
    Dear Ray, Mike and Malcolm,

Once Tim's got a diagram here we'll send that either later today or
    first thing tomorrow.

I've just completed Mike's Nature trick of adding in the real temps
to each series for the last 20 years (ie from 1981 onwards) amd from
1961 for Keith's to hide the decline. Mike's series got the annual
land and marine values while the other two got April-Sept for NH lan
N of 20N. The latter two are real for 1999, while the estimate for 1999
for NH combined is +0.44C wrt 61-90. The Global estimate for 1999 wit
data through Oct is +0.35C cf. 0.57 for 1998.

    Thanks for the comments, Ray.

    Cheers

    Phil

    What's wrong scooter, feeling ignored?

So now that the dust has settled, what did the cherry picked hacked emails actually succeed in doing? You posted the charge a million times. You believe it, no need to repeat yourself.

Here's a method to measure, you chime in anytime with a comparative list of organizations that support your opinion.
    Scientific Organizations Acknowledge Human Impact

    Updated: November 10, 2010.
Below is a list of scientific organizations around the world that acknowledge the global impact of rising atmospheric greenhouse gas concentrations from human activities.
While many more organizations could likely be added, the list is limited to organizations that have either issued a singular statement of their own or signed in agreement to a collective statement regarding the anthropogenic impact of rising emissions on global climate and the global biosphere.
All statements have been issued since 2001.
At present, there are 162 organizations on the list that span all continents outside of Antarctica.

    1) It's a fine quote.

    2) I can fix that:

MMGW is a hoax and money making scam that I will never buy into - one of the main reasons being the "Corrective Action" plans that amount to redistribution of wealth and monetary control - pure bull$h!t.

Now, having read through this, as I am sure you have, step back away from your keyboard and monitor, stand up straight, and close your eyes. Click your heels together three times and repeat these words three times in sync with your heel clicks; "Global Warming is a Scam, Al Gore is a liar, a real solution would not involve massive taxation and punish industry, it would be technology centric, and it would have a long range strategic energy plan embedded within it".

    Good luck!

I like 'em. In fact, I had the pleasure of a business trip to Atlanta just last week. That's my favorite stateside trip, even better than Las Vegas and I really like going to Las Vegas.

Why Atlanta? Cuz if you know your way around, and I do, the Southern Food is the best. You only get that in the South - one of the beautiful results of the culture blending.

This boy likes his Southern Food. Biscuits, sweet cornbread, fried chicken, grits, gravy, grilled asparagus, turkey piled on sweet bread dressing and smothered with gravy served with a baked sweet potato, cranberry sauce and green beans........

If you're ever there try this place: OK Cafe

Or: Trackside Grill The dish pictured on the Trackside Grill home page is fried chicken. Boneless chicken breasts piled in there and it's awesome. They serve local microbrewery beers too.
