Update / windows smp hits open beta

    Update:

there are now final versions of certain SMP Clients

Since SMP was originally created for Linux (and outside of F@H), the Linux Client was the first to go 'final' (you might call it 'Gold')

    the title says it all.

    Project 2610: 1523 points, deadline 4 days

Yikes I think I'll switch back to Linux /jk I'll let this one run through.

    "Paul Harvey"

    The rest of the story

Currently we have dedicated win SMP work units. Three projects are being assigned at this time:
    Project 2610: 1523 points, deadline 4 days
    Project 2651: 1760 points, deadline 4 days
    Project 2652: 1148 points, deadline 3 days

Particularly as this is a beta client, we reserve the possibility to adjust point values and/or deadlines in the future.

From what I have been seeing, it looks like twice as long to do a Windows SMP WU than a Linux SMP WU. With Points values the same, half the points. I'll stick with Linux for now.

I'm running an E6400 looks like around 17.5 mins per frame.

got the data in this thread.

    http://forum.folding-community.org/ftopic18545.html

switched back to finish a 2605 20 frames left.

Gotta run and shoot dotter's play be back in a few hours to see what develops.

Win SMP came out just as I finished a sweet install of Ubuntu Fiesty that was perfect for my boxen wouldn't ya know. Until they drop linux points I'l prolly keep running Linux for the most part.

Someone needs to try Windows under vmware on Linux to see if that's faster
