Also, some of the newer smp proteins I think are lower in the PPD category.

I know Stanford is doing its best to level the points field.

There is probably more to come.

If you compare some of the ppd for some of the earlier smp proteins such as 3027 versus the newer proteins 2608 I think you will find ppd declining.

Re: whats up with the teams total production folks????

I have two Windows SMP rigs started. I am unable to run linux on them since they are only 32 bit Xeon's. More than likely, today they will be posting their first WU so my points should work working their way back up again.

Between that and my normal rigs having crap WU's all of my rigs are pretty dormant.

All of my boxes are stuck with shitty 100 pointers again, except the GPU, which is saving my arse.

That's pretty much why I killed everything except for my iMac running the SMP client. Of course I think that box is down at the moment as well because 10.4.9 came out and I wasn't at home to log back in. Not worth the heat/electricity. I'd run the Linux SMP client but the P4 dual core at work isn't the spiffy one that supports 64-bit OSs in VMWare.

I might take a look at the new Windows SMP client for this box but one post I read discussed it caching the username/password in the registry. I need to read up more on windows (I'm a OS X/Linux guy by trade) to see if this is common practice and what form of encryption they are using. Otherwise it sounds like a very bad idea and one that the security folks at work would not be happy about. Maybe you guys can clue me in. Cause if they just XOR the thing and put it in a random key that's just not going to fly (and shouldn't for anyone else really).

In the end, I know many here will disagree and I'm sure Stanford would have kittens if I ranted about it on the other place, but I think single core folding will be either dead or limping along like a George Romero zombie within a year.
