Look for the 'x86info' entry (stuff from Dave Jones / started in 2001)

Don't know what this latest bit is x86info-git-snapshot.tar.gz ; you 'd have to ask Dave Jones for info on that one.

As you see, the latest version of x86info is dated 2006 ...

Gnome can be a pain when it comes to monitoring. I liked Fedora w/Gnome but I was never able to find any sensor monitors to keep tabs on my systems so I went back to Kubuntu KDE. Except for the monitoring, I actually prefered Gnome.

    Hi Jeremy,

What makes Gnome better in your opinion.

Interested to know since I don't know much about the different versions of LINUX. I simply got Kubuntu up and running for folding.

I haven't done much beyond that.

I installed WFWG 3.11 on an Athlon 1.2GHz w/256 Megs once just for chuckles. Ran like a scared rabbit.
