If I were you I would drop in an opti or x2 and wait 6 months before buying an all new rig. I truly believe you won't be sorry.

Ok, I found some info here, but it just says Q2, which could mean that price cuts can be anytime from April-July.

If it drops the prices of hardware I don't care I'm all for it!

So come the 22nd at least we can go out and buy an Intel quad core for a decent price or sit back and read about a "supposed" demo.

Their Socket 'F' to set two AMD Cpu's to work in Quad has bombed as the cost is high, power requirements are astronomical, and the performance is equivelant to Intels Quad processors which are highly overclockable and running at a fraction of the power requirement. Unless AMD slips something out of their sleeve, their future will be over within a year. This will be horrendous as without competition, there is nothing to regulate price, quality, or the push for advancement in technology. Computer technology has advanced to a tremendous level over the last 4 years. This is solely on competition with one manufacturer trying to outshine the other. With that factor out of the equation, technological advancement will slow down. AMD has to get their s**t together, forget about their aging core, and work on new technology.
LOL..we've been hearing that swan song for 30 years. They're not going anywhere.

I would...but it would be a waste of money. A band-aid on an AGP MB. My Athlon 64 3500 still gets the job done & my 6800GT is decent aswell. I can wait six months & I might. I did buy some G.Skill memory that has Micron RAM the other day because I was afraid the price might go back up. It's always a "crap-shoot" trying to buy ahead of your main build.
