    Red face upcoming mod e4300 1066/1333 fsb <> 1.41vcore

first order of business is do the 1066 fsb mod(makes it boot at 2.4ghz) and see how high it goes on stock volts. then do the 1.4vcore mod and see what 3+ghz do. afterwich comes the 1333fsb mod(3ghz) and then the quest for max stable oc on 1.4 volts will begin...if its a bad chip i say itll do 3.2 else maybe 3.4-3.5 too bad theres no 1.325-1.35vcore mod..yet
since itll be folding 24/7 uber folding stability is a must. meaning some peopel can bench/game and be stable but not ing stable
till then, on! or game on for the rest of ya!
    dan

ps disclaimer, yes almost forgot. voided warrenty, might kill ya chip(vcore mod and/or dead fan), etc. i dont assume any implied or written responsability, bla bla and the pics, mods are taken from vr-zone and a few other places, they are not mine(of course )
the vcore pic/mod is for 1.2875v cpus wich i think mine is.

this thread is here because : you can buy a cheap c2d and a similarly cheap mobo wich lacks (any) voltage/fsb control thus you are left with modding. for those with guts , one might sugest the 1333fsb+1.41 vcore mods to have a 3ghz chip outa box. i'd sugest trying the 1066 mod on stock vocre and see how it goes, try to oc close to 3ghz and then do the 1333fsb mod after wich u can try the vcore mod if chip is not stable

Quick question here, what type of cooling is this mod going to require? I know that people have been having great luck OCing Core 2 Duo on stock cooling but obviously the cooler the CPU the better.

stock and a cheap tower cooler. these things run pretty cool at stock, add some volts and they are not a prescott furnace by far

Hey one more thing. I noticed that the schematic showing which two pins to short is not the same as the actual mod pictured.

    Edit:

Never mind I guess one is the 1066 fsb mod the other being the 1333. What are you using to do the trace? And can it be removed ?

Hey Dan. We've got two of these to play around with at school. Maybe I'll talk them into trying this one. I still have my "Rear Window Defogger Repair Kit" from my Athlon XP/Duron days. Heh-heh...

The first two pics show the 1066 mod, right? Got a link to the original article?

I think I paid less than $10 for it, but I only used it once for my Duron. You can pick some up at your local auto parts store. This stuff applies with a brush, so a cunductive pen may be a little easier to use.

Thanks for the linkie Dan - I'mm off to go read...
