Any Speed Difference between SATA 1.5 vs. 3.0?

Hi All: Well...It's been awhile since I have built my own rig (2.5 years) & I have always been a VIA MB fan (don't laugh!) I guess VIA isn't the 800 pound Gorilla anymore!

    Anyway...Since the price of AMD's X2 6000 is @ $239.00, I wanted this cheap Asus M2V MB:

I only o/c a tad after my system get's older. My question is that this MB supports SATA 1.5 & not 3.0. Do you think there is much (if any) speed difference between them?

    Thanks guys for any insight!

No difference whatsoever. THE fastest SATA drive on earth is SATA-150.

BWM: Thanks! It's been awhile & I wanted this MB & a WD 500GB SATA 3.0 HD. Good time to buy parts to build a rig! Prices are dropping fast on CPU's & memory.

Get a Raptor for O/S and apps/games. Use a BIG conventional SATA drive for basic storage, downloads, drive images, etc.

1st...I not interested in that ECS MB (NFORCE4M-A) It has a noisy 40mm fan over the NB, I perfer passive cooling myself. 2nd...No GB Lan! A must for me! 3rd: NO USB 2.0 support 4th: Doesn't play nice with Vista in some cases 5th: It's an old Nvidia chipset 6th: Asus offers a 3 year warranty, that I hope I'll never need!

The Good? It's only $55.00 vs. $95.00 for my MB. I have a love affair with VIA MB. I always have. They are very simple & easy to set up. Also, the BIOS in the Asus M2V is pretty decent, although not a o/c dream. It can be tweaked.

    Thanks for your input.

Ah man you don't know how refreshing it is to find another VIA fan. I've never had anything else, never had a problem with them, and never regretted it.

BWM: Yes....I have been loyal to VIA for some time now. My 1st VIA MB was a Shuttle AK-31 (KTM800 chipset?) AMD Athlon XP1800 2nd: My current MB (see sig) & now the Asus M2V. Never had a issue ever!

VIA was King @ one point & now they seem to fill the "value" MB segment. That's fine by me, give me a rock-solid MB's for short coin.
