640 MB of ram? that is such an odd number. How does it come up with that number? Is it like two 'sticks' of 320?

what do you mean is it like 2 sticks. It means that there are a certain amount of memory modules on the card, each containing a certain amount of memory, adding up to 640

I think it has to do with the diferent processing methods of the card,everything isnt just done on the GPU now there are others things,its hard to explain

INDEED. damn caps. bw and all towards final memory size. basically its a cut down of the gtx . clock it well and get near gtx performance. clock it uber well and get right up there

Dood.. each memory module on a graphics card (for the most part...) is 64mbs each module. So the 8800GTS has 10.. while the 8800GTX has 12...
