George Zimmerman Tells Trayvon Martin's Parents 'I Am Sorry'

In other non news... Sexual harassment.. payoffs... cover up. If only they had a wide stance in there somewhere it'd be all over the networks.

NC Dem chair agrees to step down in May

After months of silence on the sexual-harassment charges in the North Carolina Democratic Party’s headquarters, Governor Bev Perdue suddenly demanded the resignation of the party chair over the issue. Just as suddenly, Perdue reversed herself, supporting David Parker’s intention to stay to the end of his term:

National and North Carolina Democrats have flipped and flopped across the board to praise North Carolina Democratic Party chairman David Parker’s choice to remain in his position.

Parker said yet again during a Thursday afternoon press conference that he would try to hang on to his job. The state party has become embroiled in a sexual harassment scandal that has already claimed the job of executive director Jay Parmley.

Parker has now agreed, following political pressure from within his own party, to hold an election for his job in early May instead of in June. He has also announced, after initially leaving the door open, that he won’t run in that election. Still, by remaining on the job Parker is defying the demands of many Democrats.
Why the sudden change of heart? Parker would have been out by June anyway. However, his resignation would have meant that control of the party would pass to first vice-chair Gwen Wilkins — and as Politico’s Jonathan Martin discovered, that would have been, er, problematic:

The DNC is now working with North Carolina Democrats on finding a suitable replacement for Parker, somebody who won’t be a distraction when Obama and the party convene in Charlotte this summer. That person won’t be the first vice-chair Gwen Wilkins, who has reportedly been hit with misdemeanor charges for bouncing checks. Part of the reason Parker didn’t resign immediately as of today is that Wilkins would’ve automatically ascended to the chairmanship.
So the push from Perdue, as well as several other Democratic officeholders in North Carolina, to get Parker to resign over his supposed mishandling of a harassment complaint would have produced a chair that has bounced-check charges outstanding. Apparently, this is something else that North Carolina Democrats didn’t know about the leadership of their own party.

We just can’t wait to see who North Carolina Democrats nominate next for the job. I understand this man is available, if they can afford the hair-styling bills.

Re: No MSM bias to see here... move along..

    Two whole days...

New York Times experiment in self-awareness lasts all of two days

Some of the comments to the Slimes article are pretty good.

"Context and intent make all the difference" = it's bad when their guy does it, but OK when our guy does it. The Achilles' heel of modern progressive political thought is it's inability to see it's own hypocrisy as others see it. Your "contenxt and intent" may satisfy your fellow progressive friends, but they aren't acceptable to the rest of us.
Of course it's the exact same kind of "context" that the equally libtarded Politifact used to avoid actually saying whether or not Obama ate dog or not.

In context: Obama's comments on eating dog in Indonesia

^^^ So they cut-n-paste a good portion of Bill Ay... Obama's book but are still unable to render a verdict. "truth-o-meter" conspicuously absent.

The suggestion that executive orders from a president who believes in a stronger executive branch are illegitimate or "appalling" -- while an identical order is not only fine but necessary when it comes from a president who claims to be against signing orders and really, really tries hard to get the opposing legislature to do what he wants...

But it's "not sustainable in the long run" -- meaning, when the current party is out of power, such executive action will again "appall" the bon pensant.

Surely politicians must make such duplicitous claims.

But someone who claims to be a serious thinker, a writer, and indeed an editor?

This truly marks the low point in the history of the Times, and it will be looked back upon with shame and embarrassment.
The faster the ole' grey lady goes under the better.

Gotta love it when a libtard is in the WH.

    High gas prices are good..
High unemployment is simply an opportunity for a gubberment paid vacation...
and now a slowing/sluggish economy can be added to the growing list of traditionally bad things which are now good for us...

Drew points out that if you click through, the headline on the actual article (that is, not the headline on the main NPR page) asks if moderate growth is good for the economy.

Of course slow growth is good, but it's only good when there's a Democratic Administration of course........ Just like Nancy said, "Unemployment benefits will help to Grow the Economy"......

The truly amazing thing to me is they can stand up and pump that bull$h!t with a straight face - Waxman, Waters, Pelosi, Gore, Kerry, Obama, Kennedy, Feinstein, Jackson, Sharpton......

I guess if Robert Tilton, P.T. Barnum, and people like Jim Jones could do it, why not our politicians.

Justice Department probes University of Montana student rape reports

It's all about the football team?

Perhaps, but I doubt it. Why would justice dept be involved for that?

Maybe it's about the University telling a suspect from Saudi Arabia (a very rich suspect) that the police were coming to question him. Giving him 24 hours notice so he could up and disappear, which is exactly what he did.

Now that needs to be investigated.

The sexual assaults all need to be investigated and justice served, no doubt. But the incident with the Saudi suspect just might be enough to get Justice dept involved.

It isn't the first time a Saudi prince fled the country from allegations.

There was the prince that used his private jet to smuggle cocaine into the US, but was "allowed to leave".

Then there's the Saudi family that used to have ties with Osama bin Laden but was allowed to leave the country right after the towers fell.

The messiah makes yet another speech... mushmouth over at MSDNC analysis... predictable...

The Leg Thrill is Back: Matthews Thinks Obama's Crass Campaign Speech Is "Shakespearean," Just Like Henry V

"It was not political," offered Congressman Jim Moran.

"It was right out of Henry V actually, a touch of Barry, in this case, in the night for those soldiers risking their lives over there," Matthews said.
"Well that's great stuff. I was so proud of the President there, I must say. This has nothing to do with partisanship; this is the Commander-in-Chief meeting with the troops," Chris Matthews gushed on his program today.

MSNBC now has a larger viewership than CNN.

Before you liberals get a thrill up your leg, keep in mind that they're both down in viewership.

I'm thinking it must be right wing neocon radio's fault. Those danged ditto heads.

Re: No MSM bias to see here... move along..

Just posted this at another joint but Ill repost here.

Seems off topic..but is it really? We expect a review of a show but get a rather pointed jab at the 1%. I mention this to iluistrate how pervasive the thinking is at the Times
    http://www.nytimes.com/2012/05/03/opinion/death-of-a-salesmans-dreams.html
    This bit and I quote:
Certainly few middle-class people, or at least anyone from any “middle class” that Loman would recognize, are among the audiences attending this production. What was once a middle-class entertainment has become a luxury item. Tickets for the original run, in 1949, cost between $1.80 and $4.80; tickets for the 2012 run range from $111 to $840. After adjusting for inflation, that’s a 10-fold increase, well beyond the reach of today’s putative Willy Lomans.
Then again, in 1949, the top marginal tax rate was 82 percent. The drop in that rate to 28 percent by 1988 helped create a stratum of people who could afford to pay high prices for everything from inflated theater tickets to health care and college tuition.

I wonder if the writer is aware that bare minimum wage for show actors is around 1500 per week. Or does he really delude himself..true to Willy’s mindset that prices rise exclusive of costs.

    Some reminders for the writer/crybaby:

    What Things Cost in 1949:
    Car: $1,650
    Gasoline: 26 cents/gal
    House: $14,500
    Bread: 14 cents/loaf
    Milk: 84 cents/gal
    Postage Stamp: 3 cents
    Stock Market: 200
    Average Annual Salary: $3,600
Minimum Wage: 40 cents per hour

Re: No MSM bias to see here... move along..

Scrub a dub dub... wikki doing it's best to further it's agenda bias.

BREAKING: Wikipedia deletes “Forward” entry showing link between Barack Obama’s new slogan and Socialism.

Wikipedia has decided to delete the page titled ‘Forward (generic name of socialist publications.)’

Wikipedia wrote this morning that after reading many comments and “various good points made on either side,” they deemed that there is “little or no connection between the disparate publications of the same or similar name other than similar ideological outlooks.”

That seems awfully peculiar that this happens right now, just weeks after Obama’s campaign announced their slogan would be ‘Forward.’ The page has been up for almost a year and a half, so why now?

Wikipedia says that, “while the publications listed in the article are indeed individually notable, there does not appear to be a unity between them except in terms of sharing some name and being socialist in character.”

So, Wikipedia, you expect me to believe that there is no unity between all of the publications even though they shared the exact same name and socialist political ideology? I’m not buying it. This never would have happened if Obama’s campaign slogan were something other than ‘Forward.’

Although Wikipedia maintains the individual articles in a ‘Disambiguation’ page of ‘Forward’ on which the various publications are listed.

Many students and professionals across the world go to Wikipedia to gain an understanding of a situation. Since Wikipedia is not a viable source of research, one would have to go elsewhere to obtain more substantial data, but Wikipedia can be a great resource to become acclimated to a topic.

Suppose you were a high-school student doing research on communism for a dreaded ‘term-paper.’ The student may look up that Vladamir Lenin famously started a publication whose title translates to ‘Forward,’ and that title was used as a sort of motif throughout socialism in Europe over the next few decades. Would that information not be useful to a student?

Leave Obama’s slogan off of that page, put it on their ‘Campaign 2012’ page, do whatever, just don’t take down a page of information strictly because the Democratic president used the word as his slogan.

Like I said in a prior article about this topic: I don’t think that anyone on Obama’s campaign team wanted to make a reference to communism or socialism. But what it does say is that their team was ignorant in choosing a title. A simple ‘Google’ search would have shown the unintelligent marketing squad that the word ‘Forward’ could possibly have ties to socialism, which could create an argument.

It is representative of the administration to make a petty mistake like this that could have easily been avoided with a 5 second internet-search.

SHARE this article to let everyone know that Wikipedia has taken this down!
OK, so, they didn't want to make any reference to Communism or Socialism by using the slogan "Forward." It was also a coincidence that he officially launched his reelection campaign on Karl Marx's birthday. Also, "Forward" was the title of Marx's first Communist pamphlet. If, in fact, these are all just nothing but a bunch of coincidences, then Obama should fire everyone involved with running his campaign, because it's either intentional, or unbelievably incompetent, take your choice.

ROFL. I agree Newsweek, I agree. I guess they had to do something to compete with the infamous breast feeding cover over at Time. These useless rags are getting desperate because their sales are down the hole.
