Matthews: Businesses Sitting on Trillions of Dollars to 'Screw' Economy and Obama

Chris Matthews thinks American businesses are refusing to spend money in order to intentionally harm the economy as part of a long-term plot to "screw" President Obama.

Such political paranoia was actually uttered on Monday's "Hardball" as the host chatted with Eugene Robinson of the Washington Post and Charles Mahtesian of Politico.

Readers are strongly advised to prepare themselves for the kind of conspiracy theory normally reserved for the likes of Michael Moore, Oliver Stone, and members of the far-left who actually believe George W. Bush and •••• Cheney had a hand in the 9/11 attacks (video follows with partial transcript and commentary):

CHRIS MATTHEWS, HOST: You know, a great question, Charles, that wasn't on my list to ask but I'm going to ask you because you seem like a sophisticated guy of many parts. You think business can sit on those billions and trillions of dollars for two more years after they screw Obama this time? Are they going to keep sitting on their money so they don't invest and help the economy for two long years to get Mr. Excitement Mitt Romney elected president? Will they do that to the country?
Yeah, Chris, business owners and corporate executives across the fruited plain are intentionally undermining their companies and their personal fortunes in order to impact an election that is 25 months away.

Certainly, they're not keeping stockpiles of cash out of fear of: rising taxes, increased healthcare costs, the creation of carbon emissions targets, a double-dip recession, or the next regulatory shoe to drop from the current administration.

    No.

They're just remaining uncharacteristically liquid to harm the man that gives you a thrill up your leg.

Now that we've settled that Mr. Matthews, could I interest you in some waterfront property in southern Florida?

Re: No MSM bias to see here... move along..

    This dude is just creepy.

Fake pimp from ACORN videos tries to 'punk' CNN correspondent

Lusby, Maryland (CNN) -- A conservative activist known for making undercover videos plotted to embarrass a CNN correspondent by recording a meeting on hidden cameras aboard a floating "palace of pleasure" and making sexually suggestive comments, e-mails and a planning document show.

James O'Keefe, best known for hitting the community organizing group ACORN with an undercover video sting, hoped to get CNN Investigative Correspondent Abbie Boudreau onto a boat filled with sexually explicit props and then record the session, those documents show.

The plan apparently was thwarted after Boudreau was warned minutes before it was supposed to happen.

"I never intended to become part of the story," Boudreau said. "But things suddenly took a very strange turn."

O'Keefe is best known for making a series of undercover videos inside ACORN offices around the country in 2009. The 40-year-old liberal group was crippled by scandal after O'Keefe and fellow activist Hannah Giles allegedly solicited advice from ACORN workers on setting up a brothel and evading taxes.
There's a lot more detail in the link. It will be very interesting to see if anyone is running this dude.

yet another example that conservatives will police their own ranks, unlike liberals.

LOL, ok...if you say so. This is the same douchebag who made the fake acorn videos and also tried bugging a Senator's office phone.....he was just peachy then.....apparently he needed to start waving dildos around to raise the ire of conservatives .

I'll be interested to hear Faux News' word on this as apparently he was supposed to give the network the "heads up" once the video was made.

uh, those weren't fake acorn videos. I don't recall anyone sticking up for him trying to bug a phone either.

^^ The video's were not fake and he was not trying to "bug" an office. Meanwhile client #9 has a new home at CNN and MSDNC continues pitching their far left rubbish to 12% without a peep from those ever so critical of Fox.

Seems to me that this was not about a "punked video." Based on what I have seen in my professional career, I would wager that old boy had an obsessive fantasy about this lass and was hoping to tag her. Too bad he does not realize that the "Larry Flynt Guide to Seduction" is chalk full creeperville delusions. "Candy Little Girl" just is not much of a turn on. Odds are, it he had gotten her on the boat, the resulting video footage would have been more embarrassing to him than her.

Supported by our tax dollars at NPR.

NPR.. "inconsistent with our editorial standards and practices"..

Juan Williams Fired By NPR For Admitting He Gets Nervous When He Sees Muslims On Airplanes

Well, actually, I hate to say this to you because I don’t want to get your ego going. But I think you’re right. I think, look, political correctness can lead to some kind of paralysis where you don’t address reality.

I mean, look, Bill, I’m not a bigot. You know the kind of books I’ve written about the civil rights movement in this country. But when I get on the plane, I got to tell you, if I see people who are in Muslim garb and I think, you know, they are identifying themselves first and foremost as Muslims, I get worried. I get nervous.
Ok by NPR "editorial standards and practices"..

NPR: Where “Teabag” Videos Are Defended But Blaming 9-11 on Muslims Will Get You Fired

National Public Radio used taxpayer dollars to bash teabaggers on their website–
    “Learn to Speak Teabag”

The video poked fun of the angry teabaggers showing their Nazi and Stalin signs.

Here is the video from the NPR website:

After a controversy erupted over this nasty liberal cartoon last year NPR posted a response on their website. NPR executives said they would not apologize for the cartoon by Mark Fiore, nor would they remove it from the NPR site. NPR did however enlarge the word “OPINION” on the page where Fiore’s cartoon appears and labeled it his “personal take” on the issue.

Byron York wrote more on the controversy at The Washington Examiner including this:

So there will be no apology, no withdrawal, and no further steps to provide balance in commentary. Right now, what balance there is can be found in the comments section. “This should be on the Democratic National Committee website,” one California listener wrote. “Why did NPR allow this? I’ll tell you why. The people who allowed it have the same views.”
Indeed. They didn’t see anything wrong with it because they agreed with it.

Last night NPR fired Juan Williams for admitting that he gets nervous when he sees Muslims on an airplane.
    Unbelievable.

P.J. Salvatore at Big Journalism has more evidence of blatant bigotry allowed on NPR.

UPDATE: Via Instapundit– A call to defund NPR.

    &

Indeed. Lets pull the funding from this lefty cesspool and let it go the way of Air Amerika.

Huckabee calls on Congress to cut NPR funding

    • "I think he ought to be worried about what's going on in the Good Lord's mind, because if there is retributive justice, he'll get AIDS from a transfusion, or one of his grandchildren will get it." -- National Public Radio and ABC News reporter Nina Totenberg reacting to Senator Jesse Helms' claim that the government spends too much on AIDS research, July 8, 1995 Inside Washington.

This happily-volatilized mass of the saved were born again in Jesus Christ....The evaporation of four million people who believe this crap would leave the world an instantly better place." -- New Orleans-based National Public Radio commentator Andrei Codrescu, December 19, 1995 All Things Considered.

    • MARGARET CARLSON: And wouldn’t it be a great thing if they moved it a few blocks? And Muslims and Americans who still worry would be talking to each other. Let’s compromise.

MICHEL MARTIN (NPR): Why should they move it?

CARLSON: Well, why don’t we compromise?

MARTIN (NPR): Did anybody move a Catholic church? Did anybody move a Christian church after Timothy McVeigh – who adhered to a cultic, white supremacist cultic version of Christianity – bombed the Murrah building in Oklahoma? – CNN's Reliable Sources, August 22, 2010. Martin is host of NPR’s “Tell Me More.”
    More bias.

Re: No MSM bias to see here... move along..

To add fuller context, the NPR code of ethics clearly states:

    Quote:
    9. NPR journalists must get permission from the Vice President for their Division or their designee to appear on TV or other media. It is not necessary to get permission in each instance when the employee is a regular participant on an approved show. Permission for such appearances may be revoked if NPR determines such appearances are harmful to the reputation of NPR or the NPR participant.

    10. In appearing on TV or other media including electronic Web-based forums, NPR journalists should not express views they would not air in their role as an NPR journalist. They should not participate in shows electronic forums, or blogs that encourage punditry and speculation rather than rather than fact-based analysis.

So, Juan clearly violated NPR's ethics code by appearing on a Faux News pundit show.

Clearly grounds for termination just for that alone.
