CAIR Watch: More bullying, more terror ties
    By Michelle Malkin • August 9, 2007 03:21 PM

Fresh off trying to shut down Robert Spencer’s YAF speech, CAIR is back–desperately trying to defame Spencer by associating itself with a lying lunatic.

Meantime, the terrorism trial in Dallas that should be front-page news continues and Steve Emerson reports on the latest CAIR-HAMAS revelations:

In testimony Tuesday, FBI Agent Lara Burns reported before the jury in the Holy Land Foundation (HLF) trial that the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) was listed as a member of the Muslim Brotherhood’s Palestine Committee, right alongside HLF, the Islamic Association for Palestine (IAP), and the United Association for Studies and Research (UASR). Agent Burns further testified that CAIR received money from HLF - a claim that Nihad Awad blatantly denied in a congressional testimony in September of 2003.

Burns also said that both Omar Ahmed and Nihad Awad, CAIR co-founders who today serve as CAIR’s chairman emeritus and executive director, respectively, were also listed as individual members the Brotherhood’s Palestine Committee in America.

Awad and Ahmed are further connected to the Palestine Committee based on their positions as president and public relations director of the IAP, a Hamas front group that was responsible for the dissemination of propaganda, and has since been closed down as a result of a multi-million dollar civil judgment in a trial involving the murder of an American teenager by HAMAS terrorists.

CAIR, which touts itself as America’s premier Muslim civil rights organization, was named as an unindicted co-conspirator in the trial. Burns’ testimony so far has placed both Ahmed and Awad at a 1993 Philadelphia meeting where the HAMAS members and supporters discussed a strategy to kill the Oslo Peace Accords, which threatened to marginalize HAMAS. The group also discussed ways to improve HAMAS fundraising in America.

Government testimony regarding the role of CAIR reflects the prosecution’s attempt to prove that the HAMAS network in America was established through the Palestine Committee, or what the indictment called “a sub-group of active Muslim Brotherhood members of Palestinian origin.” The leader of this Committee was Musa Abu Marzook, a Specially Designated Terrorist since 1995, and Hamas’ current Deputy Political Bureau Chief. Through this committee, a number of organizations were established to promote HAMAS politically and financially, including HLF, IAP and UASR.
Rod Dreher urges you to check out one of the docs from the trial that lays out the jihad conspiracy in black and white.

    When under scrutiny, yell “Islamophobia!”

Re: CAIR Watch: More bullying, more terror ties

More regarding "racial profiling" now it's about a t-shirt...
    http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap_travel/20...cls8OQj6.s0NUE

NEW YORK - A discrimination lawsuit charges federal officials and JetBlue Airways with racial profiling for refusing to let a passenger board an August 2006 flight at Kennedy International Airport because he wore a T-shirt inscribed with an Arabic phrase.

The incident is part of a discriminatory pattern at airports since the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, with officials targeting people perceived to be of Arab descent — particularly those displaying their ethnic background or religious faith, two civil liberties groups said Thursday in filing the lawsuit.

The ACLU, joined by the New York Civil Liberties Union, filed the federal lawsuit on behalf of Raed Jarrar. The Iraqi architect was barred from the JetBlue flight for wearing a shirt that read, in English and Arabic, "We Will Not Be Silent."

"Racial profiling is illegal and ineffective and has no place in a democratic society," said Reginald Shuford, an ACLU senior staff attorney.

Last August, a Transportation Security Administration official identified only as Inspector Harris pulled Jarrar away from a boarding gate, took him to a JetBlue counter and told him his shirt made other passengers uncomfortable, the complaint said.

Jarrar was told to cover up the message if he wanted to board the flight to his home in Oakland, Calif. The TSA official equated wearing Jarrar's an Arabic shirt to an airport with "wearing a T-shirt at a bank stating, 'I am a robber,'" the complaint said.
And of course look whose doing the lawsuit..

Re: CAIR Watch: More bullying, more terror ties

"We Will Not Be Silent"... Yeah that sounds dangerous
And how would the man covering up the message on his t-shirt make him any less of a suspected terrorist? If that was the pretence of him not being allowed on the airplane.

Equal chances and opportunities for everyone, hence ACLU picking up the case. And rightly so. I honestly don't see the correspondance to CAIR, aside from the fact that a lawsuit is in progress. But how many lawsuits are actually in progress in the states?

To me it appears it was for the benefit of the other passengers and I see nothing wrong with the way this incident was handled.

CAIR: Youngest Member of Hamas Family Tree

CAIR: Youngest Member of Hamas Family Tree
By The Investigative Project on Terrorism (IPT)

As the trial for the Holy Land Foundation (HLF) continues, the mountain of evidence presented by prosecutors demonstrates, in detail, the existence of a grand Muslim Brotherhood network in the United States dating back to the 1960s. A segment of this network, the self-designated “Palestine Committee,” sought to financially, politically, and morally support the efforts of HAMAS to destroy the “Zionist enemy.”

One exhibit – the Palestine Committee’s 1991 bylaws - reveals a web of key organizations tied to the Committee that were tasked with promoting HAMAS’ agenda, each in a particular field. Six groups were listed, the most prominent being HLF, the Islamic Association for Palestine (IAP), and the United Association for Studies and Research (UASR).

What has so far gone unnoticed, though, is one last organization on this list that the Committee hoped to establish in the future. As stated in the bylaws, this organization would handle “issues relating to political work and foreign relations”:

It is a committee which operates through the Association [IAP] for now. It is hoped that it will become an official organization for political work and its headquarters will be in Washington, God’s willing. It represents the political aspect to support the cause politically on the American front.
An organization headquartered in Washington, DC, tasked with political activism, born out of the IAP? Maybe a vague reference at first glance, but growing evidence points to the identity of the mystery organization listed in the bylaws as the youngest in the family of HAMAS front groups founded on American soil.

Fast forward to July 30, 1994, just weeks after the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) was founded. A Palestine Committee meeting agenda lists several issues to be discussed, including a review of the reports of the “working organizations.” Listed among these organizations right beside HLF, IAP, and UASR – all members of the Palestine Committee as listed in the bylaws – is the word “CAIR."

The same CAIR that is headquartered in Washington, and whose co-founders - executive director Nihad Awad and chairman emeritus Omar Ahmad - served as president and public relations director, respectively, of the IAP.

Add to that recently-released evidence that both Ahmad and Awad were present at a 1993 meeting in Philadelphia attended by two-dozen HAMAS members and supporters. According to an FBI analysis and transcripts of wiretapped conversations, they spent three days discussing the most effective approach to derail the Oslo Accords, a peace deal with the potential to end the decades-old conflict between Israelis and Palestinians.

This latest document tying CAIR to HAMAS is just one more piece of the puzzle, and it raises serious questions about the organization’s political agenda in the United States. Should an organization listed on Muslim Brotherhood documents, with leaders directly tied to the movement, really escape scrutiny and be accepted as the “mainstream” voice of an entire community? Or should the American public and political establishment take another look?

Re: CAIR Watch: More bullying, more terror ties

As usual... CAIR not happy with anyone pointing out the radicals whom they try to cover for.

Radical Front Groups Seething Over NYPD Terror Report

The New York Police Department’s report on the radicalization of US Muslims has enraged the Saudi-funded unindicted co-conspirators calling themselves the Council on American Islamic Relations; they’d prefer that no one ever investigate these matters: CAIR: NYPD Terror Report Casts Suspicion on All U.S. Muslims.

WASHINGTON, Aug. 15 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — The Council on American- Islamic Relations (CAIR) said today that a new NYPD report on “radicalization” may result in all U.S. Muslims being viewed with suspicion.

CAIR says the 90-page report purports to outline a four-step process of radicalization, but in fact describes ordinary activities, associations and behaviors as indicators of a potential terror threat.

In a statement, CAIR Board Chairman Parvez Ahmed said:

“Whatever one thinks of the analysis contained in the report, its sweeping generalizations and mixing of unrelated elements may serve to cast a pall of suspicion over the entire American Muslim community.

“The report lists sites that are likely to be visited by any American Muslim as radicalization ‘incubators.’ The sites listed include mosques, cafes, cab driver hangouts, student associations, nongovernmental organizations, butcher shops, and bookstores.

“Despite raising suspicions against ordinary Muslims and the places they visit, the report itself states: ‘There is no useful profile to assist law enforcement or intelligence to predict who will follow this trajectory of radicalization. Rather, the individuals who take this course begin as ‘unremarkable’ from various walks of life.’

“So while labeling almost every American Muslim as a potential terrorist, the report’s authors admit that their findings offer no useful way to identify real terror suspects.

“The report also claims that signs of radicalization include positive changes in personal behavior such as giving up smoking, drinking and gambling. It also makes similar claims about those who wear Islamic attire or a religiously-recommended beard.

“Is Islamic attire or giving up bad habits, which is something recommended by leaders of all faiths, now to be regarded as suspicious behavior?”
Also getting into the act: the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee, who are calling the NYPD “un-American:”

Kareem Shora, legal adviser for the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee, called the findings faulty and inflammatory.

“The report is at odds with federal law enforcement findings, including those of the recently released National Intelligence Estimate, and uses unfortunate stereotyping of entire communities,” Shora said in a statement. “The use of such language by the NYPD is un-American and goes against everything for which we stand.”

Re: CAIR Watch: More bullying, more terror ties

Waa... CAIR wants off the list..

Update: CAIR Wants to Be Removed from 'Unindicted Co-Conspirator' List

The Council on American Islamic Relations has filed their Amicus Curiae brief (PDF file) in the Holy Land Foundation trial, asking the court to take the unprecedented step of removing them from the list of unindicted co-conspirators.

Reading the document makes it clear that CAIR really doesn’t like having their status as an unindicted co-conspirator reported in any way, by anyone. They cite many media sources reporting on the trial, and several blogs, including Counterterrorism Blog (Steven Emerson), Jihad Watch (Robert Spencer), and of course LGF.

Here’s the link to the PDF file: Amicus Curiae brief. I’m no lawyer, but after reading this extended farce pretending to be an argument, I’d be very surprised if they get what they’re asking for.

In this rather amazing section, CAIR’s lawyers complain about the inclusion of Hamas terrorist leaders on the co-conspirator list, including Sheikh Ahmed Yassin and Abdel Aziz Rantisi.

Each and every one of the over three hundred listed unindicted co-conspirators, whether an individual or an organization, suffer massive harm to their good names, their reputations, their privacy, and their economic well-being. Included on the list are main political members of Hamas, both living (Mousa Abu Marzook and Khalid Mishal) and dead (Abdel Aziz Rantisi and Ahmed Yassin), persons who have pled guilty to material support of Hamas (Mohamed El Shorbagi), persons who have been acquitted of engaging in a Hamas conspiracy (Mohammad Salah and Adbelhaleem Ashqar), persons awaiting trial (Ismail Elbarasse), a slew of person that have never been indicted, and a variety of organization engaged in advocacy on the part of Muslim Americans and Palestinians.

In this case, the public smear accomplished by the public naming of all of these unindicted co-conspirators is even greater than any case in the past. In Briggs and the other cases, the branding that was accomplished by publicly naming the unindicted co-conspirators was that of ‘criminal.’
Wow. Remember, these are leaders of the officially designated terrorist group Hamas they’re talking about—violent, murderous fanatics who openly espouse genocide. And their inclusion on a list of co-conspirators has damaged their reputation?

At Counterterrorism Blog, Jeffrey Imm has a post on the Amicus Curiae brief, including a helpful list of links to their coverage of the Holy Land Foundation trial and the role played by CAIR: CAIR Cites Counterterrorism Blog in HLF Legal Filing.

More news about our "friends" at CAIR...

HLF Prosecution: CAIR 'Affiliated With' Hamas

HLF Prosecution: CAIR 'Affiliated With' Hamas

Fri, Sep 7, 2007 at 9:01:27 am PST

Just realized that I almost forgot to post about the prosecution’s motion in opposition to CAIR’s amicus brief in the HLF trial; you may recall that CAIR asked the court to take the unprecedented step of removing them from the list of unindicted co-conspirators.

The prosecution makes it very explicit that CAIR is on that list because they belong there: CAIR “affiliated with” Hamas.

On Tuesday, the prosecution in the trial of the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development (HLF) filed its motion in opposition to the amicus brief filed by the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR).

In addition to picking apart the arguments laid out in CAIR’s brief piece by piece, the government set an important precedent, officially and definitively linking CAIR to Hamas, writing:

In the instant case, striking CAIR’s name from the attachment to the Trial Brief will not prevent its conspiratorial involvement with HLF, and others affiliated with Hamas, from becoming a matter of public record. That has already occurred as a consequence of the presentation of evidence at trial. (emphasis added)
CAIR Representative: US Troops Are 'Crusaders'

The Civil Rights Coordinator of CAIR-Los Angeles (CAIR-California), Affad Shaikh, has a blog—on which he uses Al Qaeda-like rhetoric, calling US troops “crusaders:” This American Muslim: The Crusader’s Mark.

This one doesn’t even try to hide his radical Islamic agenda.

This truly reminds of the ‘occupier’ mentality. When Crusaders arrived in Muslim lands they would create these large castles, self sustained and beyond reach. They would govern from a distance in their own peace while the ravages of their injustice, war and corruptions destroyed the countryside and region.

Re: CAIR Watch: More bullying, more terror ties

Sweet... hahahahahaha... file under dumb terrorist supporters..

Holy Land Foundation prosecutors savor rich, creamy irony

We’ve mentioned a few times now that CAIR was labelled an “Unindicted Co-Conspirator” in the Holy Land Foundation terror-support trial, still going on in Dallas. CAIR is not happy about that status at all and filed an amicus brief, pleading to be removed from co-conspirator status.

To bolster their claim that the designation has hurt them, they turned to possibly their least favorite journalist in the whole world, Audrey Hudson of the Washington Times. Hudson had looked at CAIR’s own tax records in June, and noted that their membership was plummeting.

Of course CAIR complained about that article when it came out, calling it inaccurate and Hudson racist. But now that they’re squirming under the “co-conspirator” tag, they’re citing that same Wash Times piece to save their sorry behinds! Hudson herself noted the irony, and that it was a useless comparison anyway, since her article concerned a time period before CAIR was designated a co-conspirator.

Now, Hudson writes today, the prosecution has responded to CAIR’s brief too:

“As support for its alleged injury-in-fact, CAIR provided this court with data solely from a time period prior to the government’s submission of its trial brief, a period when the alleged improper disclosure could not have affected such membership,” the federal government stated in its response, citing The Times.

“Ironically, the very same article, upon which it now relies, was publicly discredited by CAIR executive director, Nihad Awad, who claimed the article was ‘false and misleading,’ ” the government stated.

“All of the harms alleged by CAIR in its memorandum to this Court pertain to its decreasing membership and donations resulting from CAIR”s negative reputation within the United States prior to being named as an unindicted co-conspirator in this prosecution,” the government stated.
That brief was probably a big tactical mistake on CAIR’s part, especially since they’ve now submitted a sworn affidavit that implied Hudson’s article was accurate and legitimated her criticisms against CAIR.

If they deny her facts on this issue again, they would invite questions of whether the claims in the brief were perjured.

CAIR REP POSTS THREAT AGAINST PRESIDENT BUSH ON HIS WEBSITE

AYLOUSH WANTS AMERICA TO APOLOGIZE TO GUANTANAMO ENEMY COMBATANT SUSPECTED OF TERRORIST ACTIVITY

(Coral Springs, FL) Last month, Hussam Ayloush, the Executive Director of CAIR-Los Angeles (CAIR-California), posted on his blog a threat against President George W. Bush. The author of the threat is Sami Al-Hajj, an enemy combatant currently residing in Guantanamo Bay prison, of whom Ayloush believes should be released and apologized to.

The threat reads: “America, you ride on the backs of orphans, and terrorize them daily. Bush, beware.” As of now, it is still located on Ayloush's website.

Ayloush’s post, which contains a picture of Al-Hajj, can be found here: http://hussamayloush.blogspot.com/20...soner-345.html.

Americans Against Hate (AAH) calls on law enforcement to keep Sami Al-Hajj locked up and to question Hussam Ayloush as to why he would post a threat against the President of the United States on his website.

Hussam Ayloush’s profile can be found here: http://www.americansagainsthate.org/cw/profiles_cw.php.

AAH Chairman Joe Kaufman is available for interview. E-mail: info@americansagainsthate.org.

Re: CAIR Watch: More bullying, more terror ties

ACLU and CAIR... birds of a feather. They should just merge... same tactic... intimidation through lawsuit... same agenda... destroy the US from within.

ACLU, Muslims Sue FBI Over Records

SANTA ANA, Calif. (AP) - The ACLU and Muslim advocacy groups sued the FBI and the Justice Department on Tuesday, alleging that authorities failed to turn over records detailing suspected surveillance of the Muslim-American community.

The complaint, filed in U.S. District Court in Santa Ana, alleges that the FBI has turned over only four pages of documents to community leaders, despite a Freedom of Information Act request filed more than a year ago.

The request sought records that described FBI guidelines and policies for surveillance and investigation of Muslim religious organizations, as well as specific information about FBI inquiries targeting 11 groups or people.

The lawsuit states that all the plaintiffs—who include some of the most prominent Muslim leaders in California—have reason to believe they have been investigated by the FBI since January 2001.

"It sends a message that Muslim-Americans have been, and continue to be, cooperating with law enforcement, but they're concerned there might be a disproportionate focus ... on their religious practices," said Ranjana Natarajan, an ACLU attorney.

One plaintiff, Shakeel Syed, said that his organization and others have spent three years building a relationship with the FBI but that the agency's resistance to the request was troubling.

"I think it is in the best interests of the government to come clean and be transparent and forthright," said Syed, executive director of the Islamic Shura Council of Southern California. "This is a credibility issue."

FBI spokeswoman Laura Eimiller said she could not comment on pending litigation but released a statement from J. Stephen Tidwell, the FBI's assistant director in charge for Los Angeles.

"The FBI does not investigate individuals or groups based on their lawful activities, religious or political beliefs," Tidwell said.

A message left for the Department of Justice after business hours was not returned.

The groups filed an initial FOIA request in May 2006, several months after federal law enforcement officials confirmed the existence of a classified radiation monitoring program used in surveillance at mosques, homes and businesses.

The FBI responded to the request first by saying it couldn't identify any records that met the criteria requested. After an appeal, the agency turned over four pages that dealt with the Council of American- Islamic Relations and Hussam Ayloush, the council's executive director for Southern California.

Those documents dealt with a suspected hate crime at a mosque that the council had reported to the FBI and a conversation Ayloush had with an FBI agent about cooperating with federal law enforcers, Natarajan said.

She said she believes there are many more records because each plaintiff has been interviewed by the FBI or stopped at airports for questioning. The FBI, in its responses, indicted it searched only files that hold information on active criminal investigations instead of more general files that could encompass surveillance activities, she said.

Ayloush, who said he is questioned by federal agents every time he flies internationally, said he had hoped the FOIA request would help him determine why he is stopped.

"Either ... we're being stopped because we're Muslims—which is morally wrong—or that the government must have some erroneous info linked to me that I need to be able to clear," he said.

The government has 60 days to respond to the lawsuit.

CAIR to Hudson.. we love you... we hate you.. lets forget you exist..

CAIR scrubs its web site of Audrey Hudson criticism

First they hated her work, then they cited her work.

And when they cited her work, all the bad things that they had said when they hated her work just…disappeared.

Update: Perhaps I was too obscure with this post. Here are some backgrounders.

Audrey Hudson checks out CAIR’s donors.
CAIR pouts, whines, seethes at Audrey Hudson and the Wash Times.

Audrey Hudson is an ace reporter for the Washington Times.
