Bank stocks are still in the toilet, but the rest seem to be making a comeback.
There's rumours of another US bank collapse, so the worst may not be over yet.

Ordered the tile & materials for the new basement floor yesterday. The folks at Lowes actually asked if I wanted to open a Lowes credit card.
"No thank you, that's the last thing this country needs is another credit card floatin' around."
It got a good chuckle from all the people in line at the checkouts, I made sure to say it loud enough so all could hear. Although I doubt we can start shaming these companies into giving out such easy credit.
Nuke em'.
IWM has got above 53.03 off of Friday's close of 52.45 now 54.57 up about 4%. The thing is will it hold?
If another bank goes down as Enmore said could. Is the bank in the US or else where? If one does not good for the markets plus earnings are still coming out. Earnings are bad, but how bad? Housing IMO is still high by 15% and until it get more affordable to where people start buying again the markets will not climb. Sure we will have rallies but I think they will fail. Take another 15% of housing and at the middle to end of this recession I would say good to go.
We get by 9000? That will be a boost

The grubberment puts forward a program to put up $700 billion, later saying it will buy into insurance companies and banks, adds a few more hundred billion here and there... and the result? The stock market tanks on the order of trillions upon trillions of dollars. That's the great Paulson Plan that our leaders sucked teet on.
Now it goes up to 9000 and people are getting happy.
I don't get it.
Everybody got hosed, has been getting hosed and will continue to get hosed.
Get your asses away from the roulette table for Chriminy sakes.

I'm glad I'm not in Iceland right now; they're in deep do do. Their currency is collapsing, inflation is at 14%, jobs are being cut left, right & centre.
They suspended their stock exchange again today. It was closed all last week too.
A friend of my parents has £55,000 in the Icesave bank. They're panicking that they'll never see it again. Fortunately, all is not lost. Our government 'froze' £4bn of the Icelandic banks' assets in London using anti-terrorist money laundering laws.
Bingo.
And crude is at 80 bucks. The last time crude was at 80 bucks, gas wasn't friggin' $3.25 a gallon. Crude drops in half and the gas drops less than a buck. Whoop-dee-friggin'-hoo. Let's all go to Disneyland, where we can catch some reality.
Yeah, let's all celebrate.
A crap sandwich.
That's all any of this is.
Hard to set on the sidelines while the market is going up and be invested 10%. It will pull back to move higher or lower that is when I make a leap or not.
Gas here is $2.699 in NW Missouri.
