Hardware support out of the box - not bad for relatively new hardware only released a few months ago

The top end gear does cope but it's not that much better than the best air coolers in terms of temps or max OC and costs significantly more.
I like water because of the lack of noise. I have four water cooled PC's in this room and you can barely hear them. I can hear the A/C blowing out the vents.
When I had my four X2's in here you couln't hear nothing but screamin fans....

FedX tried to deliver my parts today but I was not hear to sign. I have to pick them up tomorrow two miles from work. I don't think I will get to play with them as I have a side job tomorrow night and Thur night. I will be gone next week on Vacation also... Might be 2 weeks before I fire them up.

They actually make good all in one kits now?
Yeah Conroe and such is still Socket LGA775 for Home PCs. I was thinking of getting the CoolIT Freezone(175w cooling capacity for the cpu only so far, It's meant for Quads) for My next Quad core cpu(QX6850 and an Asus P5K3 Premium or a Deluxe with 2-Kingston Technology(KHX11000D3UL/1G) DDR3-1375 Dimms(So far the difference in cost of parts is minimal(At least from where I would buy the parts from that is), Like near $140 or so in My case)), But now that's in doubt, No CA solar rebate for those that have sub panels and aren't direct customers of a utility so far(Edison says I don't qualify for the CA Solar Rebate of $2,500 since I live in a mobile home park). Yeah I'm writing a letter to complain to the state legislature(Assembly and Senate offices). I think I've been dissed by a utility. On top of that I would have to buy My own Bi-Directional Meter as the park certainly won't as the one I have is not capable of doing that, I also have to get an installer to install the system for about $2,000 from a part time installer as the system I need to get is smaller than the local company could sell Me(If I could get enough money that is to buy their 1.6Kwh PV system over a 1.225Kwh PV system that I may be able to afford) and the 1.225Kwh PV system wouldn't have a 10 year warranty, Hopefully the seller would have one(the Alternative Energy Store).

Sweet stuff, guys! C'mon in, the water (or in my case the aircooling) is fine!

I did have to back off to 9 x 390Mhz... whenever two Spinhenge WUs fire up at the same time I blacked out at 9 x 400. Cry me a river, huh?

I've used liquid cooling for about 3 years now and I would never go back to air cooled. When I first built this 3.8 P4 system it sounded like a vacume cleaner when it started. Air cooled can work if you live in a controled enviroment with air conditioning but it is not common here. Is it expensive? Good components allways are. This is a suggestion for an entry level system for a quad:

Of course if you want to do extreme overclocking like Fluff then you need one of these:

Of course you guys in the States aren't going to order from this place but I thought it would give you some ideas.

I have sen the light and it is time to upgrade this old 3.8 P4. I ordered today and will have to wait up to 2 weeks to get the MB I want. My parts list is small but then I'm only doing an upgrade.
    Q6600 quad
    Asrock 4core1333-FullHD MB
    2 x 1gb Corsair DDR2-800
    120mm x 360mm radiator and 3 new high capicity 120mm fans

I choose this MB because it will work nicely in my home entertainment system.

    Next addition Blu-ray

Red fell for the Quad temptation..... welcome to the club! I don't belong!

    yet!

If my watercooling setup can cool a 3.5ghz conroe @1.41v and barely exceed 40c, I think it will handle a quad!

If anybody wants to send me one, I will test it and let you know!

    Nice MJD1964.

The last of my parts should be here by Friday. So if all goes well, I should have my first quad up and crunching on the weekend.

Then my plan is to sell off my 3 dual cores, and build 2 more quads in the next 6 months.
