    Interview with Former Mod IAmGhostDog

I have the extreme pleasure in posting an interview with a former Mod who has been a real asset to our community..IAmGhostDog..or as you may come to know him, Jeff. He has a wealth of culinary skills he is apt to share, as well as a huge collection of music. I am so pleased he agreed to share something of himself to us all, thanks!

Hi there. Let me take a minute to introduce myself. I'm Uncle Bob, a Mod here at PC Perspective. We will be running a series of articles within the forum that will be called Mod Interviews. I ask revealing, embarrassing, stupid, probing questions of Mods and hopefully you get to laugh with us at ourselves and in the process get to know some of us better. Beware, not all the Mods are as forthcoming as you may like, I do my best to uncover the truth, but haven't always hit the mark!

    1. I realize many of the ex-mods here are in a witness protection program of some sort, but can you give us your real name?
    Jeff

    2. Why did you join PCPer/AMDMB?
I had built my first computer. It was based on a ASUS A7M266. After cruising the net searching any and all info about that board,
I happened across amdmb.com. To say that amdmb.com was the premier web site for Athlon based systems would be an
    understatement.

    3. Which forums do you frequent the most?
    Audio, Tech, Vid Cards

    4. Why do you keep coming back?
    Force of habit? Nah.

    5. What was your first experience with a computer?
Commodore 64. I didn't really look at that as a computer though. I bought it to play games on.
Still have it with about 30 games.

    6. Do you prefer to be called a "geek" or a "nerd"?
    Neither. Enthusiast.

    7. What do you like to do the most here at PC Perspective?
Browse, read what interests me, help out where I can.

    8. What do you like most about PC Perspective?
    The sense of community.

    9. OK, we all know this is coming…What do you like least about PC Perspective?
    I'd rather not say.

    10. How long have you been active in PC Perspective?
    November, 2001

    11. Where are you most active here? What is it you suppose that draws you to that particular area?
Some of the forums. I like to help out where I can. When I first started coming here I was helped in a lot of ways,
I like to give a little back, pay it forward as it were.

    12. What interests do you have outside of PC Perspective. Don't be shy, if you don’t have a life outside of here, many readers would like to know!
I belong to Red Hour. We are an online gaming group/community.
I also am into music. I have a large vinyl/CD collection. And I play guitar.

    13. OK, it’s hardware time! Let’s start with your most, or current favorite piece of hardware. Tell us about it.
It would have to be my Terratec DMX 6fire. Sound card with front bay module. It does it all. Games/music/DVD's. It has a built in phono pre-amp.Have my turn table plugged in. Have my Line6 POD plugged in via MIDI In/Out. For those that don't know, the POD is a guitar amp modeler. It is my second favorite piece of hardware.

    14. Software? Hey, if you are a closet Linux user, now’s the time to come out. (If you are a closet Microsoft user, don’t be afraid, we can keep a secret!)
    AdMuncher. (Sorry Ryan)

    15. OK, let’s get real personal. Witness Protection Program be damned…Can you tell us something about yourself you’d like us to know?
I'm retired. Worked for 20 years for the post office. While I do possess fire arms, I was never disgruntled.

    16. What can you tell us about your job? Hey, if you do something illegal, now’s a good enough time as any to make a clean start!
Job? What's that? My job near as I can tell is to make coffee in the morning. Let the dog out. Check the weather to see which way the wind is blowing.

    17. Where do you live? (Be fearless, your secret is safe with us..)
Milwaukee, Wisconsin. On the east side. And yes it is cooler near the lake.

    18. What can you tell us about your family??
    Married. 17 years in June.

    19. Here’s a delicate one…How old are you and where did you grow up?
I'm 57. Grew up in Milwaukee not far from where I live.

    20. Well, we are getting to the end of it, it’ll all be over soon, I promise. What you would like to say to our forum members, go ahead anything. Get it off your chest. We have all day here….
Always remember. Respect your elders. They've seen things. Been places you haven't been.

Nice interview. Some of us could go on for hours about IamGhostDog and all
hes contributed to the forums in general and specific forums like Audio Corner
where he had tremendous input over his time there.
    But Ill bite my tongue.
Hey...I just went on and on huh?

Seriously. There are about a dozen guys I regard as "founding fathers" at a time when the forums were
growing by leaps. Ghost...Namek...BWM...Jerky...the list goes on and on.
