Blocking quotes from members on our ignore lists.

Something that annoys me and maybe it could annoy other people, perhaps, is that members that are unblocked on the ignore list will quote people on my ignore list, it shows in the quote and bypasses the ignore list and I dont want to read the quote of the ignored member. I want the quote of people on my ignore list blocked.

ok, i can say that it has been something that should be corrected, if we can let the developers know that would be good if you ask me

the developers are already aware. there has been discussion on their forums regarding this very issue. why it hasnt been changed...i dont know other than that the fact that it would most likely require alot of core code change. it might be something they have flagged for a future release (like possibly 4.0). dont know for sure. its simply a wait and see game as of now.

I have a question? Why even use it. You can ignore someone without going the extra mile of using code on a website. Just curious.

usercp, left hand navigation towards the bottom of the nav menu (under misc category). you can control buddy and ignore lists there.

the ignore list prevents you from seeing any post made by a username that you specify in that list. you may also see some kind of indicator in the "whats going on" box at the bottom of forum home. either that or you simply wont see that user listed there at all.

the buddy list lists all of the usernames you specify in a popup box when you click the "open buddy list" link. buddies on your list are also displayed in the "whats going on" box with a "+" next to their names.

outside of that...i dont know. there may be more functionality but i dont use either list so i am unclear.

seems it'd be impossible to do fully. the quote box is just displayed using quote tags, you can put anything in quote tags, you'd need to get rid of quote tags, and even then someone could quote someone without using any tags at all. it's just plain impossible as far as my feeble mind can comprehend.

the only sure fire solution is to ignore everyone, and that's not very friendly at all.
