Smile Pedal to the Metal: Overclocking the Athlon

    UPDATED SEPTEMBER 28, 2007.

    Hey Everybody,

I've tried my hand at writing a guide on AM2 Athlon overclocking, "Pedal to the Metal: Overclocking the Athlon." It's hosted at PC Perspective for online viewing and in PDF form to read later:

Guide, (For Online Reading) at PC Perspective
Guide, (PDF for Offline Reading) at NinjaHippo

Any feedback (comments, questions, concerns) would be appreciated.

    Peace

^ LOL, it might be nice to leave it in for those who really have no idea what the fuss is about.

NOTE: The guide has been updated to address several technical and grammatical errors. If anybody downloaded the guide before last night, please re-download it at your convenience.

    Nice guide.
I especially like it because the motherboard used is the one I have

I am in need of a "how to keep your highly overclocked X2 under 60 degrees with the stock cooler" section LOL

    Great work !

    Very well done!

I especially like your intro section on "Why O/C". I'm one of those dinosaurs who's been O/Cing since about 1990, and I wish I had a nickel for every time I've had to explain the whole concept to people!

Kudos for pointing out the need for a good quality PSU. This is usually the last thing most people pick out when deciding on a system, yet it's one of the most critical parts of a good system.

Re: Pedal to the Metal: Overclocking the Athlon

    I enjoyed it.
Coupled with the fact Im bringing back up a XPM-2500 to fold for the team. I kind of got a warm fuzzy. But my 754 1.8 NC and MSI Plat. Isn't worth the new bios chip to make points. Even when it OC's to 2.8

And bringing up the old XPM and Abit board reminds me of pains of old.....
