The Levono has 9-cell Lithium-Ion Nonetheless, most of us live off the plug rather than the battery (only use the battery to check online email on the road).

    Re: Lenovo, by IBM

    I need a quick understanding...

    NVIDIA Quadro NVS 140M
    64-bit
    10w

    NVIDIA Quadro FX 570M
    128-bit
    35w

Both are DX10, blah, blah... for me to do everyday task and play only one game (SS), NVS (128MB) would do fine? I am just confuse when I read other forums (NVS vs FX) with DX10/OpenGL, etc. I think using a 10w would be less heat as well.

The bottom line is I am looking at Levono T61, is it worth going for T61p (just to get the "p")? T61 has Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG, T61p has Intel Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN, no biggie? The T61 has 1x2G RAM while the T61p has 2x1G RAM, same differences, huh?

In other words, either video card will run the same before my eyes, only the benchmarks will tell the different, right?

Funny that when I am ready to click the order button, something else "newer" comes out.

FWIW, I already ordered the one with NVIDIA Quadro NVS 140M (128MB).
I'll still be happy with '2nd place'

Hope? Could you use other words, like perhaps "It certainly will be a great laptop!" or "Hey, it's better than mine!" or "definitely a good buy!" ... I was just joking around.

I could, but you'd have to slip a few dollars my way

    Re: Lenovo

I got another email saying that the Lenovo I ordered is now on backorder. The retailer said two things: wait until it ships (who knows when it will ship) or place another order. I could wait, but it could happen (like my first order) that they discontinue it already?

Now I am back with the HP vs Lenovo. Below is a little different HP I found.

    First off, both have:
    T7500 CPU (PM965, 2.2GHz)
    1X2GB RAM
    15.4" (1680x1050 WSXGA+)
    3 years warranty

    Now, differences:

    Lenovo ThinkPad T61 64576DU
    Intel Centrino Duo
    100GB 7200rpm HDD
    Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG
    NVIDIA Quadro NVS 140M - PCI Express x16 128MB
    Ultrabay Slim
    9-cell battery
    Vista Ultimate

    HP 8510p RM266UA
    Intel Centrino Pro
    120GB 7200rpm HDD
    Intel Wireless WiFi Link 4965AG
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2600 with up to 512 MB HyperMemory
    Scroll bar buildin touchpad
    8-cell battery
    Vista Business

I am not asking for permission to order something LOL. I need to know if the HP (technically is it Compaq?) is a good strong laptop? The Lenovo shows off with their "Top Cover Roll Cage". Would HP withstand the repetitive open/close? How is the image of the LCD? The problem is neither is available for me to see hands-on in any retailers.

I probably would most likely wait another week...

Could somebody tell me what are those three buttons on top of the touchpad in Lenovo? Shortcuts to internet and email?

I don't know if this is of any help to you but I see Circuit City and Office Depot have Thinkpads for sale.

Thanks for reply. I will go check it out. At some time ago, Circuit City didn't have Thinkpads. I will check it out today.
