All of this is tentative anyways, so I'm sure spec ops will be included once the game comes out. I just hope that since it is vista only, that it is also dx10. I don't know if I could play another Battlefield game on the same engine.

Sounds a lot like the original BF2 but with BF2142 style unlocks.

However, the leaked info suggests the game will only be released for Windows Vista PCs and the Mac's OS X, with Windows XP users left out in the cold.
I don't know what they are thinking.
Do these developers/publishers think that enough people will have Vista to even break even?
I for one refuse to upgrade OS/vid card at a cost of $400 plus to play a $50.00 game.
It makes me wonder if Micro$oft is subsidizing these companies to get people to upgrade to Vista.
I can see with Halo. It's their deal. But 3rd party dev's?

I don't think so. They are likely forced under DX10 architecture. If they want a game that looks great under DX10, then they will have to optimize the engine for DX10, but if they want support for DX9, then the engine won't run as efficiently, thus the difference between DX9 and DX10 will be small and the consumer running on a DX10 hardware will think they are stiffing him. That's my assumption.

According to their reports, BF3 is more like a large expansion with newer graphics.

8maps? Sorry, but I think there should be more. This is a new game, not an expansion! 8 maps is just too low, imo.

8 maps is fine, i only end up playing 2 maybe 3 after a while anyways. with bf2142 all i ever play is camp g, or maybe cerbere landing from time to time.

they don't really need a lot of classes, i was kind of hoping they'd keep assault and medic as one class. since you have unlocks for equipment as well as guns, having multiple classes is no longer neccesary, you can equip your kit anyway you like which means you have more ability to play ahy way you like.

spec ops will most likely be rolled in with the sniper or recon kit, whatever they decide to call it.

finally, they got on the autoupdate bandwagon, maybe now they'll adress bugs as they find them, instead of releasing uber patches that end up needing patched. it' bad that you need to patch a patch.

The Chinese maps in BF2 are unforgettable because they look good, maps such as Dragon Valley, Songhua Stalemate and Fu She Pass lol.

if they add foliage like you'll have in crysis you won't even need a ghulie suit. you could probably were hot pink and still be hidden fairly well.

one thing i never liked about the certain games, foliage dissapears at a distance and/or it can be disabled. certain aspects of a mp game should be enforced at all times.
