    Re: Battlefield 3

Played some of the new Close Quarters DLC. its definitely a completely different feel from the original game. I played the new game mode "gun master" which is basically a rip-off of the COD game mode. You have different "levels" with a single gun that you have to get kills with. After 1-3 kills with each weapon you progress to the next one. Whoever gets to the highest level (a kill with the knife) first, wins. Its fairly entertaining, but certain levels can be a real PITA, like the MK3A1. I also played the CQ domination game mode with 64 people. It was super hectic with people around every single corner, very fast paced. I think it would have been a lot more manageable with 32 rather than 64. Flag caps are much faster than in normal conquest, but you spawn randomly or on squad mates, not flags, so its got a bit of TDM/SQDM feel. A lot of action and you definitely have to think a lot more vertically since things happen on different levels above and below you.

In summary, I've only played a couple of maps so I don't have a complete feel for the levels, but they seem a bit maze-like. Can't decide if thats good or bad. In general, the action is a lot more COD-like. I also can't decide if thats good or bad. The destructability is ratcheted up so its definitely a better game than CoD would be with the same levels, but I've got some mixed opinions about this DLC right now. Its much more of a free-for-all rather than a team-based game. I'm interested to hear what other people think

I will probably end of buying Premium at some point but the problem is I have very little time to play these days.

I can confirm that the smaller server size (32 vs 64) does make a pretty significant difference in the way the conquest domination plays. Its still pretty fast paced but its a lot less likely that you'll practically trip over people when you spawn

I hear ya Len. Since I just recently bought SS, MW3 and D3 I have little time to invest in buying more BF3. Maybe when the prices drop or I get bored with the other stuff I have.

Sadly it's real life that's keeping me busy not other games.

What is your point? The same crap happens in normal BF3 all the time but because its in DLC maps you're gonna get all lathered up?

I just thought it was hilarious. Close quarters just isn't my cup of tea for BF games. It worked well in Titan mode for numerous reasons but this DLC doesn't excite me. I will probably buy the Armor Kill one and the others if the maps are more varied.

Before it was patched it was more a combination of the RQ-16 and a VZ-1.
