The Alpha is a closed test and by invitation only. If you'd like to have a chance to be called upon make sure to register for our newsletter and ensure your Veteran status is up to date.

I read that to mean you could sign up now and still possibly get an invitation. I was opted out of communications for EA so this morning I opted in and signed up for the newsletter. I got a confirmation email about signing up so now all I can do is wait <fingers crossed>.

[COLOR=black]One thing they need to change is when someone gets revived and the revivee has the choice to accept or respawn, their player looks alive in the prone position. They should change it so that you choose to wait for a revive or wait to respawn... once revived you are revived end of story. I don't like the revive then lay there for a few secs and decide if you want to accept the revive or not.

What? So in the 15 sec limbo time you actually have to choose if you want resucitation? In a way I can see why, cause of nincompoop medics who fail to realize they need to clear an area before reviving. On the other hand I can see this counter measure as creating a new problem....

Perhaps they should apply some COD elements to the game.

Never!! That would only n00bify the game.

I haven't pre ordered yet, but I also got the first alpha test for MOH too. EA must like me.

They don't want people to see buggy pre-release footage and think BF3 is a buggy piece of crap.

And why does Activision need to steal anything from BF3? Call of Duty has beaten everything in sales that EA has put out the last few years. If anything, EA is trying to steal the secret sauce from Activision.

Lets talk the real battle which is DICE vs Infinity Ward. Who are the devs. And they make the games, not the publishers.

Btw I dont think cod uses doom 3 engine dude. I think its infinity wards own proprietary engine. And its still DX 9 based.... And its old....

Like I said, activision takes a dump, polishes it, calls it black ops (wanna see cooler black ops? go play the original Half Life) and it sells. Why? Cause they happen to have maybe better marketing then EA? I dunno. I remember EAs attempt at marketing battlefield with a bc2 comercial which simply showed 2 n00bs in a humvee being chased by a chopper.....

They should have put me in the friggen battlefield comercial, so the n00bs can see what is posible in this game

The BF veteran thing never worked for me... No clue why it won't take my user ID / password combo. The iron sight on that BC2 special weapon is actually usable. Can't use half the weapons because some iron sights are just too damn bulky. G3 and the AKSU-74 (?) are the only ones I use with some proficiency without the ACOG.

On the COD topic (let's not turn this thread into a flame war): they've released dozens of game already. The BF franchise seems a bit slower.

I prefer the CQC in COD but it get's old - I need controllable vehicles!

Activision has been eating their lunch in holiday sales, and they're positioning Battlefield 3 as the "anti-Modern Warfare 3", but these two series are different. Even Bad Company, which is DICE's console-style FPS shooter, still has vehicles and stuff.

Took me 5 min, put cd keys on website and voiala.
