About $200.00 and you have a nice upgrade or a budget build with the upgrade to the new Phenoms once they arrive.

lets see, u can get one of these to like 3.4 on air rather easily right? what can u build in the intel section that can match it in the 200 dollar figure?

E2140 + cheap mobo overclocked to 3.0Ghz or higher might match the $200 figure.

1) It would be cool if Ryan reviewed these parts and add them to the leader board if fitting.

2) 3.4ghz wasn't easy for me and if its hot outside I have to turn it down.

3) The feel difference between a 6300 @ 3.00ghz & this rig is non-existent. For gaming or my regular uses.

4) The great advantage to a AM2 build is the upgrade ability to the Phenoms hopefully next month. I don't think hypertransport 2.0 to 3.0 will make any difference.

5) I think AM2+ is marketing hype. But this 69.99 biostar board rocks!

so ure saying even if y get a nice 7025/50 tforce for like same price as this one + a 2140 or 2160 ure still better off with this a one? i wanna see some fps in games and the like.

IMO AMD Is a step above Intel with its on chip memory controller , untill Intel can perfect that , I stick with AMD

well I gave a BS 550 SE I had to a friend who despertly need to upgrade a xp2700+ socket a system , but I am back LOL

What benefit is the onchip memory controller? I see AMD doing well on memory benchmarks, but what value does that have for real-world applications?

decreased latency helps everything . makes everything run smoother IMO . I have owned a CD2 , was not that impressed with it .
Amd is much more snappier IMO Sure Intel has the upperhand at the moment , but you cant beat AMD bang for the buck proformance . That is why it is listed in the PcPer leaderboard under the buget section .
What I have found is that even the Buget CPUs is more then enough to run every app out. Shoot I ran Supreme Comander on a single core 4000+ (2.6 Ghz) . This game was hyped to need a high end dual core cpu .
But if Intel is your favorite , that is cool . to each their own . I would rather buy a 5000+ Black edition and a high end vid card and have extra cash in my pocket
And lets not forget AMD boards are less expensive then their Intel counterparts

what i like about amd chips is teh snappiness due to the said integrated memory controller. but once teh app hasstarted, c2d takes over. so if u gotta open up a lotta stuff VERY frequently go amd if not c2d.

You're right. I googled for the am2 x2 6000 and these results were against the e6700.

My jetway cost me around 70 bucks as well and its also a great OCer
But my CPU cost me like 300 bucks almost 2 years ago
CPU would be considered bang for your buck now though since its much cheaper
