    3800 Pricing revealed... DAMN!

    http://www.theinquirer.net/gb/inquir...-pricing-shock

"Pricing for both launch parts is very aggressive, and AMD claims it is all due to 55nm process working like a clockwork and achieving excellent yields. Radeon HD 3850 should retail for between $149 to 179 (USD), while 3870 should be between 200 to 230. This is brilliant pricing, going way below 8800GT."

This is a really interesting development considering a year ago, we were dreading 1000$ GPUs...

You can expect these 3800 cards well before the end of the month.

But you didn't hear that from me.

I think AMD's got some CPU's, chipsets and video cards to reveal in reviews and articles this month.

Please AMD, give Nvidia some MUCH needed competition! I don't want to wait another year before the next gpu launch again, and then find out it's just an improvement on a year old core like the 8800GT.

I think it is just an improvement of the R600. Especially since its suppose to be the R670 core.

The originally advertised price for the 8800 GT was much lower than itís being sold for at the moment. Looks like Iíll wait and see if the New ATI (AMD) cards are any good (IE Price Vs Performance). Was going to wait till after Christmas anyway

If its true they consume so little juice I am all over it. I am really looking for the best performance with the least amount of wattage. It could be a great cf set up but time will tell.

i dunno, i know i shouldn't base much off of paper launches, but the specs of the 3870 look quite impressive, i'm pretty sure that it's going to be a pretty good performer.

if these things come out at the right price i might skip my trade up altogether and sell of this gts for the 3870 (gonna have to see some real numbers first though.

I'm predicting very near 2900XT performance from the 3870. Could still be a very good deal at $200
