    "An Echo, not a Choice"

A suggestion from a MM reader for a new GOP slogan.

Anyone who remembers the old Goldwater slogan should recognize how far the party's been spun around.

I do. There was no bs from Goldwater. Nobody had to scratch their head and wonder "what did he really mean"?

    Found it

How about accurately acknowleding our sh*tty situation (of having a clueless and treacherous RINO as our so-called party’s candidate) by turning Barry Goldwater’s 1964 slogan around:
    “An Echo not a Choice”.

    Re: Quote of the Day...

Between Obama with this gem and Hillary with her fantasy I dont know who gets the quote of the day

In a speech to the crowd, Obama sharpened his rhetoric against some of the most vocal voices against immigrant workers and migrant worker programs.

“A certain segment has basically been feeding a kind of xenophobia. There’s a reason why hate crimes against Hispanic people doubled last year,” Obama said. “If you have people like Lou Dobbs and Rush Limbaugh ginning things up, it’s not surprising that would happen.”
Obama obviously knows something the rest of us don't.
The 2007 hate crime statistics have not been released yet.

The 2006 hate crime statistics were released in late November 2007:

    Anti-Hispanic Incidents in 2005 - 522
    Anti-Hispanic Incidents in 2006 - 576

Barack Obama is warning supporters that the general election fight between him and John McCain may get ugly, but the Illinois senator is vowing not to back down.
If they bring a knife to the fight, we bring a gun,” Obama said at a fundraiser in Philadelphia Friday, according to pool reports.
We don’t have a choice but to win,” Obama said, joking that he has heard “folks in Philly like a good brawl. I’ve seen Eagles games.”

Can't say I'm surprised that ESPN.com's Jemele Hill wrote that "rooting for the Celtics is like saying Hitler was a victim." Columnists (this one included, of course) have been prone to fits of supreme ignorance and insensitivity for as long as there have been columnists. That said, the line wouldn't have gotten into anything so antiquated as a newspaper. And therein lies the real problem with Internet journalism.

Everybody has an opinion. Nobody has an editor.
