    Biostar 770 will not
Can't find that board. The newest AM2+ board from biostar is just an AM2, it's not even shipped with a phenom compatible bios.
For some reason I'm thinking AM2+ won't be compatible with the 45nm chips. the only thing that would cause that would be ddr3 support only (sort of the AM2/s939 debacle). I think AMD is trying to avoid that, maybe my thought was that there would be even newer chip sets that would make an upgrade worth while, or maybe I was thinking the 45nm were the "ones to get" and you could bypass AM2+ altogether. Stretch your AM2 till then was my thinking.

Glassman your a strong person, I couldn't resist. The Biostar 770 hasn't shown up yet but it should next week. I wrote biostar about the overdrive utility and they won't support it.

I agree we will get chips for 6 months and then AM2+ will probably be replaced.

    Re: Phenoms Finally!

Just found the discussion on it in the Biostar forum. They already have a 2nd bios so looks like the TA770 is moving along.

Overdrive utility and 45nm?? Anyway, the utility may only support the 790 variants. We don't need one any way, do we

Quick question: Seems Shopblt.com has the 2.2GHz phenom at a good price...just wondering if anyone has ordered from them. They seem to have this system where it tells you the stock at each warehouse.

    Re: Phenoms Finally!

Out of curiosity i am happy that AMD may finally have something out to compete but why are people buying things without seeing too much reviews, comparisons or benchmarks.

    Maybe i am missing something.

    Re: Phenoms Finally!

Who's buying anything?? We've been waiting a long time for AMD's new gear, so there is a lot of interest. Next week there will be reviews etc, but we (most of us) still won't be able to buy anything til next year. So go with the flow.

wow , that hit AMD at a bad time, sounds like I will be waiting till at least feb 08 to see what unfolds , maybe even later when AMD gets it togeather. Mt 5000+ Black is holding me fine for the moment so i just wait and see

Hard to say, not a lot of history. One guy had to photocopy both sides of his Visa card for them, strange:

You did a nice job on that review Ryan

I was expecting a little bit more out of the CPU also.
