Re: Vista wont let me OC help!!!

I am having a similar multiplier with Vista. CPUZ shows that my multiplier is 6x but the bios says it is 7x. Everything else says it is 7x, cpuz might be wrong? I installed vista fine the first time and my multiplier stayed the same, but after I formatted it changed. It must be vista related.

    PC Specs:
    MOBO: Gigabyte 965P-DS3
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo Conroe Allendale (OC'd to 3.04ghz per core)
    RAM: 4 GBs DDR2 800 4-4-4-12
    GPU: EVGA nVidia 8800GTX 575 1800
    PSU: Silverstone Decathalon 850w

OK just a thought, but what version of CPU-Z are you running?
The latest is 1.42, either way I'd try a different version up or down without over writing the current one, just delete it then re-install.

Ok I managed to change multi in windows with CrystalCPUID

Thing is thats about it,It changed multi, but I dont know how to save it to make it happen at boot up,nor does it have fsb adjustments.

Also tried ntune, multi is locked their, and it can only do 250 max fsb anyways.

Ohh lord its like im resorting to lame in windows oc tactics. When all I really want to do is let BIOS handle everything.....

Ok great lol. Then how come mine is?
Heres another clue to the mystery, safe mode @300x9 works.
That proves more that its the vista cpu driver doing this.

Also in the CrystalCPU windows it shows cool and quiet on even though I have it off in bios

Trust me this rig can do up to 330 fsb prime stable,265 ram memtest stable and 2750 cpu prime stable.

As you can see in my system link that when I run whole rig OCed all values are lower then these tested speeds.
So I know they should work
Have you asked Jetway about it?

that's what i was thinking. since the bios is suppling config info to vista via software, it may not be providing what 64bit needs to properly set the hardware config.
