I wouldnt worry about that very much. Your character talks a lot, whenever one of your buddies get killed he always yells "man down." and there is nothing you can do about it and also you will not hear your own character say a word. Fortunately the directional sound is so terrible in this game that people will only know that you are near and not know exactly where you are. Motion mines and players yelling "man down" is how I get most of my dogtags.

Off topic but ... now that both Buu and my motherboards have gigabit network ports I did some simple rewiring so that both our computers are now direct connected to the gigabit router ports instead of my 10/100 house switch. File transfers are blazing now. I copied a 4,688,066 KB file in 57 seconds using simple stop watch timing. That's like 80 MB/sec over the house network!

I have a gigabit router that i'm using as a switch between my HTPC and main rig. Its awesomely fast so its great for streaming content to or from my HTPC (which also acts basically as a file server) including high-bitrate direct blu-ray rips. Gotta love it
Hopefully this will resolve some of the issues Buu seems to be having maintaining a connection to servers on BC2

We think Buu's problem is because we are both using the same client behind the router. Matt suggested the fix:
"X:\Battlefield Bad Company 2\BFBC2Game.exe" -port 10001
Will find out on Saturday night
Edit: actually since I have BC2 on Steam I probably need to add the "-port 10001" as a Launch Option in the game properties.

Yeah have been waiting a long time for 16 port gigabit switches to get cheap but not there yet. Actually I can get away with a simple 5 port switch because of the way my PCs are currently connected to the network. The 16 port switch in the basement is full but only because of all the (mostly unused) wall ports I installed throughout the house. But really there is only one other wired PC not yet on gigabit so it's not a huge deal.

Platinum on the 416 last nightWas trying out the MG36 with normal built in scope. Holy @#$# its a freaking high capacity sniper rifle. I was sniping across the map in Atacama Desert with it. Plus its also a room sweeper. Might have to stick with this one for a bit
