well it looks like i have been trying to melt another pink pad under the mb. touched one of the fets or fits or whatever those things are called and went ouch! second one from the top 125f. stuck a fan directly over it and now is running 95f.

i'll have to wait to check. in the middle of orthos at 338 htt.

Uddarts you might reconsider putting the chip in the 560. Read the stuff now, polygon is suggesting against it.

I find it very curious that so many board manufactures didn't design the circuits for 125 watt. Did AMD not tell them?

I knew there was a reason for the DFI. Now I know

If I still had the 560 tomorrow would have probably been its last day.

UD if it was me I'd try it anyway just don't run 4 cores of prime.

As per polygon heat is only half the equation.

i've pretty much decided against it. i'll use it for a paper wait for a while until something interesting comes along to put it in. that is unless it already obsolete. i imagine there will be some fancy talk on why they don't work in most boards. as i said somewhere, most am2 boards don't even get a bios for the low level quads. wasn't that the point at one time?

yes i've been monitoring rebels and saw what you saw. i was caught completely off guard. hell it ain't the first time.

I have decided what I'm doing.

1) 9850 Back to Newegg. Sorry Newegg but AMD didn't do right by you on that one. Its a great chip but no OC.

2) I'm building a new rig with my DFI 790 board with one of the tri-cores. Bought all the stuff and plan on selling on ebay or amazon.

3) Bought myself a Biostar 770 board to play with and I'm throwing the x2 back in.

That should keep me busy this weekend. I think the new Nvidia boards will be out in the next few weeks

UD, x3's are out and it looks like they might OC better then the X4's.

I will have one Thursday.

Still haven't decided on what to do with the 9850 & the DFI board.

I think I may just sell that rig in a new case.
