    quick help: phone

my crappy/cheaply phone that i got with my bro is out. got it from verizon and the two year contract is over. phone still works but i am unable to recharge it due to broken chips. what options do i have? am on a tight budget and don't want a spend over $50 bucks for a temporary as i want to upgrade to a 3.2mp phone later but don't have the budget now. can i go in a verizon store and trade it in for another phone and keep the current contract? should i just buy a phone off the streets? how does that work and how i get the phone to work. also my cheap phone doesn't seem to have sim chip? if that helps

check out ebay, chances are you can get the exact same phone super cheap. usually putting your sim in is all you need to do but it appears you don't have one so you may just need to take it to a verizon store and they can hook you up.

verizon doesnt use SIM cards, you can activate/add your contacts online

well im not sure how it works when it is over, i thought they either offered you to continue the service, or they shut you off

but they can activate your phone for free

They can activate the phone for free, and or you can get your "new every 2" discount and get a brand new phone, you might want to check the contracts they offer now and see if a different one could save you some money. or stick with the old plan, whatever suits your needs. I just gave my mother my old phone since the one she was using wasn't cutting it. Just called Verizon told them what I was doing, gave them some info and it was done in a few minutes. I would assume buying a used one off Ebay would be about the same thing.
