    king henry VIII

I've always wondered why king henry viii is more so remembered for being good and doing a lot of good rather than remembered as being evil, especially since I'm like the only non-killer in the world who doesn't hate people who kill yet even I remember henry viii mostly for the ordered killing of his wife (or was it more than 1?) and, i strongly oppose the catholic church just like he did, but i still find it difficult to remember him for his good.

Not only did he effectively kill his wife, he created a church that started out just as tyrannical as the catholic church once was (or almost as tyrannical.)

People left england for religious freedom, like william penn who was at risk for incarceration had he not left the U.K.

So, why is King Henry VIII not usually prevalently remembered as evil, but rather a decent person who made many accomplishments and at worst, just another british monarch with ordinary vitrues?

History is written by the victors. Henry was a tyrant; A real piece of work.

William Penn was a century later.

I musta missed the part about him being glorified as you seem to think. I remember him as the king that blamed the wives for not giving him a son, hence the wifey rotation.

He may have been good. He may have been bad. But there's no doubt he was King! Eat your hearts out commoners!
