    Sata 3G backwards compatiblity

In looking at a lot or most of the newer mother boards (ASUS P5K-E) I see the SATA sockets are called 3G. It appears I went to sleep one night, woke up and the computer world turned again since I built my last system 1.9 years ago.

So the dumb question for the day is: I currently have two WD Cavier Se WD400JD 150 mb drives. Will I be able to use them in the mentioned mobo or any mobo with the SATA sockets labeled 3G?

    Thanks

You shouldn't have any problems. It is backwards compatible.

Yup, your drives will be right at home on the new motherboard.

Thanks loads, now the rest of the grueling task... I hate doing a rebuild, so many boards, so many forums, so many reviews. I'd almost and do mean ALMOST rather get remarried again. NOT
