    m2n32-sli deluxe USB legacy problem

ok this 1 really has me stuck, i have a Asus M2N32-SLI del.
If i leave USB legacy disabled and turn off any usb device connected, after i select xp or vista from my boot screen, i will just get a nice black screen after.
If i turn on a USB device like a printer or external hard drive, xp and vista will boot just fine with USB legacy disabled.
If i enable USB legacy i can boot into xp and vista without any usb devices connected (no i dont use a USB keybored or mouse).

I know having USB legacy enabled can cause some stability problems, so i prefer to have that off, i dont get any lockups or BSOD using vista or xp and i game for around 6 hours a day.
I just dont understand why i cant boot with USB legacy disabled and have all my USB devices powered off.

    any ideas anyone?

Perhaps a bios update ? Not sure what bios you have on the board.
I see bios 2001 shows following fix:
System does not halt when there is no legacy or USB floppy.
Though not 100% sure that it addresses your problem.
