you dont have to jump on the high end train as far as i can see IN GAME as long as you have a decent cpu(stock) a decent HDD decent memory and a top of the line video card you can get your frames you so desire. i should know my system cost me $800($1000 after the monitor) and i get solid frames in every well coded games(just so you know there are games like crysis that dont tax your system only because of graphical might but because there codes are so terrible that they eat frame rates infact most MMO's fall in this catagory. You shouldnt break your bank and spend along time learning to overclock just so you can ruin a very new system because it was your first time. I say go with a mid range computer($600-$800) and teach your self on this because youwont lose as much if you leanr on that and fail.
you will also be very surprised over the ability of a computer around that price i know i was infact my current rig is so good it truely amazes me every day
